- Even though he heard Kit talking, he wasn't sure how much he actually listened to. It was discovered by accident, he used salt on the paper, it helped the photos. He chuckled at the joke, more to be polite than he actually found it funny. The boy wasn't really sure why the man would have thought to put salt on his paper, but he didn't care too much to contemplate it, especially as the man moved on to the topic of the new "game" they would be playing. It sounded similar to one of those "spot the differences" games, yet the opposite.
As they entered the showcase Sterling almost laughed. Kit was showing them some old guy and a nude girl? Surely he realized there were first years in the room, yes? He shook his head and looked to a Ravenclaw girl as she mentioned they were both taken with a mirror. He frowned at the pictures. The older looking picture didn't seem to him to be taken with a picture to him but he supposed it was possible.
He thought about the pictures for a moment, studying them for a moment before speaking up with a couple of his own solutions. "Well, they both seem to have brown hair, neither are looking directly at the camera, and their right, or I guess their lefts arms are in a similar position." That was all he could see that was the same in the pictures so he fell silent after his inputs, waiting to hear what other people would think of the pictures.

Dominique loved it when Kit told her that she got the answer right. Now it seemed like she had to spot the similarities of the two pictures. And one of those pictures was of a nude lady. Wasn't sure what to think about this one. But she was going to give it her best shot. “ In both photographs you can tell that the person has a serious look on their face.” Kit did say that there was no wrong answer. As she really wasn't sure what else she could say. Maybe someone else would give an answer. As she listened as Sterling gave his.
Dominique then stood there just waiting. As she had no idea what else Kit was going to do. She was just excited that he was able to teaching at Hogwarts. As she knew that he was from the states. And she was hoping that her parents would get her a camera for her birthday.

| While Kit himself was no advocate of body shaming, he knew there were people who relied on the concept of shame when it cam to raising children. So the American was especially glad to see students paying more attention to the game of spotting similarities than the fact that one of their photo subjects was in the nude. The older ones would have seen it all anyway and the younger ones would see it early enough not to sexualize it. As for the in between, well, they might discover safe ways to express their interests.
"You are all of course correct," he commented when the students were done offering their observations. "But it is Miss Gerber who has hit the nail on the head. Both the pictures in front of you were indeed taken using a mirror because they are both selfies." The reveal was done with a grin, as if Kit had been holding back a secret until now.
"Selfies, the art of capturing oneself in art. The practice has dated back a millennia because as soon as man learner to print an image on something, he - or she - immediately sought to recreate an image of himself. We humans can be vain that way. The picture on the left is the oldest selfie using a camera recorded - one again on loan to us from the good people at the University of Texas. A good school if you ever want to pursue photography, art or cinema education in future."
He let the students taken it all in before he continued. "For the rest of the class, feel free to browse around this little gallery of ours. You may do it in pairs or on your own, or both if you would like to find out how you best enjoy art. We have an extensive collection from the classics of Baroque and Renaissance periods to modern photography to even samples of popular cinematography art. So if you want to know ho the background colors for the movie Mad Max were blended, how video games design color pallets that look more realistic than life or simply lose yourself in the black and white era of the fifties and sixties, please go ahead. All I ask is that you find something that inspires you, because inspiration... is the hardest thing to find. And all too easy to lose..." The artist trailed off, a wistful look in his dark brown eyes before he returned to the classroom and the students beginning to move.
"Oh and before you leave, please visit our mock free gift shop at the other end of the gallery. There are free coupons for a beginner's course in photography so you kids and can go together in your free time and take turns seeing the world as I see is - through a camera. These coupons are good in almost every country except Canada. i advise you to take a friend so you can compare notes."
With that, Kit let the students disperse, allowing them the next hour to discover their own preferences in art. ________________________________________________Come plot with me! <3

- To be honest being in this class Sasha did actually learn something at the end. She knew now a bit more about Photography and she knew even if it was art form she won't try to do anything with it. She likes painting and drawing more. She can just take pictures for her own fun but not for money or anything like that.
The girl had listened there a whole time what was said by professor and also her fellow students. She actually took some notes for herself which she found were good things to remember about this lesson. Anyways she didn't have that many there written down. She wrote down only things she found necessary and important.
Now when it was free time to explore then Sasha did it. She looked at every picture there very closely. They all were so different, yet so same. They had been done in the different time and different cameras. So it wasn't easy to choose which one you like the most in here. In the end, Sasha was so clueless what she likes most in here.
The girl knew that she might choose something but she just hoped she doesn't have to. She knew she could go visit that mock free gift shop and see what they offer there but she wanted to figure out which picture she likes the best. All she did was right now tried to decide. Lately making decisions has become harder and harder in her life.
After a little deciding Sasha decided to go with some landscape photography, what seemed to be done in the modern time area. Since it had colors on it. Something about it made her like it, she wasn't sure what. All she knew that it was beautiful and she liked it. Anyways the girl soon after that went to the gift shop to see what they offer there.
Even if she wasn't sure if she should buy that coupon there. She had no idea if she would even use it. She needs to decide on that too. Will she use it or not.

- Sterling tuned out the lecture on the art of selfies, thinking instead of what the next part of the lesson might be. His answer came a moment later, however, when Kit told them to break off and explore the rest of the classroom. Sterling was satisfied and walked off to look in the different sections.
He looked specifically for pictures he already knew from his sister, making notes of what was there, so he could talk to her about them in his letters. He knew she would be so extremely jealous and he couldn't wait to talk to her about them. After looking through most of the pictures quickly he decided to get out of there, and stopped in the mock gift shop place to grab a coupon, grabbing some stupid little trinket of some sort to give his sister before heading to his common room to start on his letter since his next class wasn't for a while longer. He wasn't really sure he would end up using the little coupon, but it may be something he decided to use. Who knows.

| Having instructed the children to look around at their leisure, Kit himself spent the remaining hour mingling, acting as a tour guide, historian and art critic all in one as he answered questions that were posed by certain students. Some he saw were enjoying private viewership of his chosen art collections while others surveyed the Masters works in groups. All in all, they would at least take away one thing from this class.
How to not look like an ignorant idiot in a museum or art gallery.
Of course, some might genuinely learn about art, and a very select few might actually be interested in photography as a craft. But most of them would use this experience to pretend they were armchair critics themselves and those were what really made the world go round.
"Alright students, times up," he called out cheerfully just as the period bell rang somewhere in the background. "If you have any questions about any of the works you saw today, feel free to write to me. I'll leave my address with the Headmistress. Alternatively, you could bother Mimosa and I'm sure she'll love it." At that, a merry twinkle gleamed in his eye.
"Please don't forget your free coupons, and remember, pursue your passions, kids, no matter what they might be." As he finished speaking, the door to the makeshift gallery opened, directing all students through the various exhibitions towards the sunlight streaming through the exit. ________________________________________________Come plot with me! <3
