| Arden didn't know why but he liked being able to go to the black lake and just sitting there thinking about random things. His sister has been busy studying so he couldn't really hang with her and his friends were off doing god knows what. He arrived at the Black Lake and just sat down on a good looking rock. The Black Lake was peaceful today, which was kind of weird but he thought it was best since he was in the mood to just sit there and stare across the lake. He knew of the dangers that lied beneath and sometimes he'd only put his feet in and that's the farthest he'd go.
When he heard someone arriving he turned to look. He didn't know that anyone else came down here considering everything that was said about the lake. He waited until he could see the person's face. |

| The black lake intrigued Anya. She remembered urban legends and myths that she had been told about the lake. She had always wanted a chance to see the truth surrounding the lake. Truth was important to the young Hufflepuff. She was not a fan of people who lied or pretended that the imaginary was real. She wanted to be able to trust and she hated how hard people made it.
When she finally got to the lake, she was surprised to see someone already there. She couldn't quite make out the face, but she could see an outline. It looked to be a male; perhaps a bit more mature than her age. As she got closer, she began to see dark brown hair, but his eyes were still hidden.
"Hello," She said softly. "What brings you to a lake of such reputation?" She raised an eyebrow to the male. |

| When the person got closer, he saw that it was a female, she looked younger then him but the way she held herself she looked mature. He had to admit that he was looking at a girl that was very beautiful, he had never seen anyone look as beautiful as her. He looked back at the lake before his hazel eyes met hers.
"Yeah, I like to come here just to be in the peacefulness of the lake. Even though there is myths about this place I still find some sort of peacefulness in this lake" Arden replied. He stood up and walked closer to the girl. He didn't want to not be polite, his mother taught him to be polite to woman no matter what.
"I'm Arden Snow by the way" he held out his hand for her to shake. He thought this girl was absolutely beautiful and he bet that her name was just as beautiful. |

| As the boy approached her, Anya saw that his eyes were a mixture of brown and green-they were hazel. Unless most of the others she had met at Hogwarts, the boy seemed to have genuine intentions.
"I'm Arden Snow, by the way"
"Like the weather?" She let a small note of laughter escape her careful lips. "What an elegant name." It reminded her something that a character in a book would be named. There was an air of adventure within the name.
"I'm Anastasiya," She told him. "But most of the world knows me as Anya. I'm a fan of nicknames." That seemed to be a disclaimed she told most people when she first met people. She loved nicknames. She did not always give everyone she met a nickname. There were some names that simply did not need to be shortened. Arden was one of these names. |

| He couldn't help but laugh at her joke about the whole whether thing. He had been asked that plenty of times when growing up and had grown used to it. "Yes, like the whether. My father is to thank for that lovely name" it was his father's last name after all. It was Arden that could take a joke, Audrina on the other hand not that much. When she introduced herself, he couldn't help but smile at her name. It was just as beautiful as she was and it fit her so well.
"What a lovely name, I like it and its nice to meet you Anya" he looked at the lake and then back as the rock he had previously sat on. It was big enough for the two of them and he smiled and looked at her. "Want to join me at the rock? I promise nothing is going to happen." |

| "I promise nothing is going to happen."
Anya couldn't help but laugh a little bit. What did the boy think was going to happen? Anya was careful, or at least she tried to be. Nothing was going to happen, she didn't need to be told that. She nodded and stepped onto the rock where Arden had been sitting. She carefully lowered her body to a sitting position.
"So what house are you, Arden?" She asked. It was usually easy to figure out what house people were in. She would have guessed that this boy was a Gryffindor or possibly a Puff like herself, but she wanted to be sure. "I happen to be a Hufflepuff fourth year. We call ourselves loyal, but honestly I think I'm just a pushover." She wished that she hadn't said that. Usually, once people figured out that Anya wasn't one to say no, they used it to her advantage and she didn't want to be used anymore.
