Charms: Lesson Three (All Years) Empty
PostSubject: Charms: Lesson Three (All Years)   Charms: Lesson Three (All Years) EmptyFri Mar 10, 2017 9:01 am

When Sean had been thinking about the next Charms lesson, he had a hard time deciding on what they should do and in the end he decided to do a lesson on the Levitating Charm; not the most thought out lesson but it would get the students to practice it if they already knew it.

And just like with the Accio lesson, he had many different objects scattered on the student's desks, each one weighing differently; there were feathers, books, glasses filled with water, metal bottles filled with water, large pieces of metal and even some fairly medium sized rocks.

Not only would the lesson allow them to refine the Levitating charm, it would also enable them to realize that just because you knew how to levitate one thing it didn't meant that you would be able to levitate other's as well.

Just as the Accio charm needed concentration so did the levitating charm. It would be a fun lesson, of that Sean was quite sure. However, whether it would be fun for him or his students is another matter entirely.

On the board behind him there was already the words for what they would be studying today.

She spent ages getting ready that morning, having a sudden desire to do her hair into a fancy braid, only to mess it up multiple times. Still, upon entering class with a semi-skip and seeing nobody there but the Professor, she shrugged to herself, glad that she hadn't been late. That wouldn't have been good, considering that she was, after all, a Wilkerson, and had a family image to maintain.

Grinning at the Professor and making her way to the front of the class, she noted the objects on the table. "Oooo what are these for?" she asked, paused, then backtracked. "I mean, hello Professor, how are you today? But anyway, why do we have these things? What are we going to be do-" Finally looking up towards the board, she cut herself off. "Ooohh, that makes sense. Oooo, this sounds like fun."

Seating herself down and taking out her wand, she placed it on the table and waited, legs swinging underneath her chair, for class to start.

Nirek strolled through the halls with little and less interest that morning. They had Charms class this morning, and in truth he wasn't overly enthusiastic. Still, it was better than heading to Defence Against the Dark Arts, or something. Charms, at least, wasn't a dynamic lesson, which meant Nirek might actually be able to look good in this lesson.

"Professor." Nirek acknowledged as he entered, noting the only other person was a kid who looked much too excited. Ignoring her, Nirek moved towards the back, well away from the prying eyes of the professor and made himself comfortable in his seat. He didn't both with any books, he'd get them if they were instructed, but honestly wasn't too bothered about it.

Nirek's eyes glanced to the board, and then away. The Levitating Charm wan't too taxing... and it explained the objects on his desk, but the Gryffindor asked no questions.

Charms was another class - besides DADA - that Elleon didn't really look forward to for one simple reason: he had to speak out loud. Of course he could try and do it non-verbally but that didn't always work out well. Actually, the same could be said of all the verbal spells. He knew he had a slight advantage because of all the speech therapy he went through but that didn't mean he could magically talk like Hearing people did. There were still some sounds he struggled with pronouncing.

But Elleon was determined to come to class, not only to improve in the subject but to fulfill one very important task.

He stepped into the room and immediately noticed all the objects scattered around. A glance at the board told him the purpose of such items. But that wasn't what he was here for. Walking up to the professor, he said as clearly as he possibly could - though he was quite sure his Deaf accent was still prominent, "Thank you, sir, for saving my life during the Nightshade attack." Max had told him how the professor had gotten them out of the chaos. Elleon had passed out from the blood loss and pain and it wasn't until he woke up in the hospital that Max told him what had happened.

Elleon's first instinct was to write a note - as he always did when he wanted to communicate - but on second thought, he decided that the professor deserved a verbal thanks. He'd saved him and although Elleon preferred not to speak unless absolutely necessary, he thought that this warranted him using his voice. He'd also made a portrait for him done entirely using his charcoal pencils.

He handed the piece of work to the professor. "This is for you. I hope you like it." Then he signed a 'thank you' and made his way to one of the front seats.

Charms - with the professor who looked like he could take on an Erumpent and win - was quite cool. Oliver much preferred the more action packed lessons, in truth. Studying was not his forte, but spell casting... he could manage. This was not to say he was perfect, far from that, in truth, but Oliver worked much better on the physical side.

Heading up to the third floor, the Hufflepuff slipped in to the room to find another fellow Hufflepuff conversing with the professor about something he could only guess. Deciding not to try to eavesdrop, as that was very rude, Oliver hurried along to the middle of the room, taking his seat and then taking in the pieces of random materials on the desk before him.

Frowning slightly, Oliver looked up to the board to see the note on the levitating charm and smiled to himself. Whilst somewhat easy, this was still good practice, and a challenge. He'd not done this in a while!

Charms: Lesson Three (All Years) Empty

Charms was a lesson that Dimitri had a natural flare for, which meant it had been the first lesson on attending when the new schedules had come out. The Ravenclaw was running a little late - having gotten caught up with a joke with his friends - but was just about on time as he slipped through the door to the Charms lesson that day.

"Good morning, professor!" Dimtri greeted, looking around the room for a familiar face. That didn't end well, and the Ravenclaw moved to a free seat, busying himself with getting his books out for the day, and sliding his wand from his pocket.

Looking up to the board, Dimitri took in today's lesson, and nodded his head in approval. Well, that wasn't so bad... He could do the levitating charm with quite the flourish. Today's lesson would be good revision, which was nice, at the end of the year.

There barely any classes what Alexander really liked. He didn't really like anything. He really wasn't someone who will pay much attention in classes or then do what should be doing for a long time if he keeps failing multiple times. He just isn't really the best student for sure. He would do something else that learning some spells what he might not even never need.

He walked into the Charms classroom and just took a seat somewhere. He didn't even bother to say hello. He looked over the board and sighed. He really couldn't recall what that spell was for. Well, charm. He just waited there to the lesson to start.

He looked around the classroom and noticed here some people. Some of them even seem to be excited about this lesson when he really wasn't. He just was hoping to pass his year. When he didn't really plan to study much.

Mathew was very aware of the fact that he was going to have to complete his classes for the year in order to be able to move up a year. Lessons, though, were so very tedious and he really could not be bothered to attend them. It was, therefore, quite the challenge getting out of bed that morning for the lessons of the day.

He'd gone through the mundane tasks of getting ready, though, and was up on the third floor before he knew it. Pushing the door open, he was surprised with the turn out, and made his way to the back of the room, to be on his own.

From here, he'd be able to watch the room at large, something he enjoyed much more than many people would ever be able to imagine. His eyes moved to the board to find the topic of today's class, and he sighed. This was not worth getting up for.

Charms, Florrie felt, could be very useful. That was one of the reasons she'd decided to go to it. Making her way into the classroom, she saw a few students there already. She thought she might have been late, but it didn't look as though class had started yet, thankfully.

She saw first, that they'd be learning the Levitating charm. She glanced about, finding a spare seat towards the front of the room, not bothering, nor wanting to converse with anyone while waiting for class to start. Instead, she took out a notebook, quill and textbook, deciding to flick through some notes beforehand. She had been meaning to do some reading on Charms, to prepare. But alas, that didn't happen as often as she would have liked. She got distracted, things popped up and she lost quite a lot of time. But this charm couldn't be too hard- at least, that's what she gathered as her eyes skimmed the notes from the textbook.

Walking into the charms classroom, James was disappointed in seeing the spell they'd be learning. The levitation charm was, well, easy. He'd been hoping for something a little more challenging. It was fine for some younger students, of course, those that were new to magic. That was one of the main reasons he wasn't a fan of mixed classes. But alas, he'd stay. It was easy marks, and Merlin knows (with his grades), he desperately needed some easier things to boost them up a bit. It wasn't that he didn't study... But rather that he didn't do it enough. He preferred sport, friends and just generally anything else besides sitting in the library reading. Luckily for him, he had great practical skills.

He quickly found a seat towards the front of the room, away from his sister and waited for class to start.
