Charms Lesson Three - All Years Empty

Sean sighed as he sat on top of his desk in his classroom, eyeing the empty classroom that had all of its desks and chairs neatly stacked at the sides while in the middle stood two different platforms with a boundary line drawn around them. Having missed his second lesson due to some health problems, Sean had been hard pressed on what to do for the last lesson of the year thus he had decided to make it like a tournament where he would have each of his students duel against each other in a tournament-like scenario, only handicap they would have would be the fact that they would have to use all the Charms that they had learnt over the years without stepping into the DADA department of the spells.

The blackboard behind him was pretty much empty with only one line going down the middle and one line across the top with a couple of centimetres left empty and the words 'Arena A' and 'Arena B' written on the respective sides of the board. If his students were smart they would easily be able to realise what was going on.

Staring at the clock above the door he counted down the minutes to when they would arrive; just another couple of minutes and they should start arriving.

Charms had been missed in the second round of classes, a rumour that the professor hadn't been well. Though Oliver didn't know the man very well, he
had felt a stroke of unease at this until he'd seen the professor in and around the castle looking more than fine once again.

Silly as that might seem, Oliver had a good heart in him.

Opening the door to the classroom, Oliver found himself to be the first to arrive to the lesson, and found this to be quite surprising. With a slightly raised eyebrow and a smile to the professor, Oliver greeted the man. "Hey Professor. I hope you're feeling better now."

It wasn't a question, Oliver wasn't one to pry, but it was well wishes.

Looking to the board, Oliver took in the words that kind of explained the lesson but a small frown touched his brow. Arenas... in Charms... Interesting!

With the earlier classes having been cancelled due to some illness that had claimed the Professor's time, Dimitri had been reading up on the Charms they had missed during that time and making himself some good, detailed notes. Charms was easily his favourite class, and he had a natural flourish for the subject.

That said, Dimitri still knew he had much and more to work on before he would be considered very good at the subject -- something he hoped would come to him when he attended University after he'd finished at Hogwarts.

Before that, though, Dimitri had to pass Charms with the highest mark possible, which was why he was currently slipping through the door of the class with a smile on his lips. "Good to have you back, Professor." Dimitri told the man at the front of the class, before his eyes fell on the board.

Arenas.... With an impressed look at this information, Dimitri moved to place his bag on the floor. It beat a theoretical lesson, any day of the week!

Charms was a subject that Roxy excelled at, at least in theory but then again there was someone else who was much better than her at it, a fellow Ravenclaw, one a few years above her, and while she did hate the thought of someone else being better than her the German witch couldn't help but concede the fact that the Moreau heir was quite the prodigy in this particular subject; the German witch could see that Charms Mastery was one of the probable masteries the other could take.

Stepping inside the classroom Roxanne brightened up at the fact that the Professor was back.

"Hey there Prof!" She called with a wide smile on her lips as she skipped forwards, curiously looking at the two arena's and then the blackboard which told her nothing about what they were going to do though she could guess.

A tournament of some kind? A practical lesson? it could certainly be either of the two and she couldn't wait to find out which one it was going to be.

Charms Lesson Three - All Years Empty
PostSubject: Re: Charms Lesson Three - All Years   Charms Lesson Three - All Years EmptySat Jul 15, 2017 7:37 pm

Charms class was a class Jacques enjoyed, to an extent. The professor was quite good -- even if they'd only really seen a little of his style thus far. Which was why Jacques had bothered to turn up for the lesson. Heading up to the third floor from the dungeons, Jacques pressed through the door and took in the array of students already there.

No one of particular interest, he noted, moving to stand by the side of the room on his own. Dropping his bag by his feet, the Frenchman simply waited for the lesson to begin without so much as acknowledging the professor.

Jacques' eyes, however, did take in the lesson that was written up on the board, wondering what that meant. Arena... in Charms? He started to mull that over, wondering which spells they would be using, what the aim would be... Of course, they wouldn't know until the professor began the class, though.

Charms was one of those subjects that came rather easily to him, surprisingly. It was the one magic discipline that he got decent grades in with not much work at all (not that he really put much work into any other subject, if he did so he might do better). That wasn't to say that charms was easy, more so that he had a talent for it.

Upon entering the charms classroom, the first thing he noticed was what was written on the blackboard. Arenas, in Charms? It seemed more like it'd be a DADA lesson than charms. Of course, there were a few notable charms that would border on defensive, or could even be used to attack. In any way, James was eager to see how the lesson would pan out, already mentally reviewing some charms that might be useful. He gave a nod "Professor," he greeted him.

The summer holidays were near, though Florrie hadn't been looking forward to them. It'd mean having to be followed around everywhere she went by a member of the household staff at all times, usually Agatha.

Charms was a class she'd been looking forward too. The teacher had missed the last lesson, due to a sickness or something along those lines, and she'd been a little disappointed. But, he was back for the third lesson, thankfully. So she made her way to class. It looked as though there'd be some sort of tournament, with the the words 'Arena A' and 'Arena B' written on the board. Duelling using charms, perhaps? That was the general vibe she'd been getting from the professor when she, 'stretched' her mind to his. She'd been practising for a while, her ability to read people. And she'd been getting rather good at it. "Hi professor," she greeted, a smile gracing her lips as she did so.

Charms had always been a subject that had appealed to Prim and on more than one occasion she could be seen with a Charms book in front of her face though more often than not she would also be reading DADA books. Having not been able to attend the last lesson due to the Professor being ill, Prim had been slightly upset about it even if she silently wished the Professor to get well.

Making her way to the classroom, she breathed a sigh of relief to realize that she hadn't been late before smiling. "Hello, Professor Vasquez!" The teenager called as she made her way to stand in one corner of the classroom. "I hope you are feeling better now."

Looking curiously at the board and then at the two arenas, she couldn't help but wonder what their professor had cooked up this time. Arenas in charms? That certainly was a first but she had a feeling that this would be one enlightening session.

Ivy was completely new to the magical world, and had found it all rather intriguing. It certainly explained why some of her particularly lucky moments had happened. Little small things that had just happened, that had made her life a hundred times easier when she was doing more of the, well frankly, illegal things.

Charms. It had seemed interesting enough. She'd never considered it before now, and decided that it was worth a shot. She made her way to the classroom, taking note of the people who had arrived before her, and glancing around to see how the room was set up. It looked almost like a fight club, something she found odd for charms. Weren't charms supposed to be things like levitation? Non-combative spells? That was her initial thought on the subject anyway. It seemed she was wrong, there must be ways to use charms in such a way. She dropped her bag to the floor, making no attempt to talk to anyone and merely waited for class to start.
