| Teaching was something he was more than used to - it had become almost second nature - but what unnerved him was the fact that he would be teaching, well, children. Teenagers, Aria had corrected him, but they were one and the same, although, to his credit, he was much better with them than he had been previously.
Codey had cleared the class of all and any tables, preferring, as usual, practical work to that of theory any day. The only desk in the room was his own, and he sat casually on it, his wand kept safely in his pocket. Most of the spells he would use today were simple, and he would not need them.
Not truly knowing his class, he wanted to see them all together, to judge their individual performances and which areas he would need to focus on. He had heard rumours about the previous Professor - and some not rumours; he smirked as he recalled some of what Daniel had told him - and did not want anyone to be afraid of him.
It had worked in University, where respect was earned through fear and understanding he was the most powerful man in the room, but not here. At least, that was what his wife had told him, and Codey heeded her advice, deciding it best to just be himself instead of putting on a front. Still, however, he wore his suit and tie, unable to find comfort in anything else.
A glance at the clock showed that there were a few more minutes till everyone arrived, and Codey smiled softly to himself. It was the start of a new chapter for him, and he was surprised to find he was looking forward to it. |

| Having heard that their old professor had lost his job, Victoria was... well, she felt bad for Professor Vane, but she was also a little glad that people would have a new teacher to learn from. Especially the younger years, they needed someone to help them through the class, not to bully them.
Oh, Victoria had heard all the rumours, and by the end of last year, she'd been helping a number of the younger years so that they didn't fail.
But now, with a new professor, Victoria hoped the younger years would need her less, her schedule was slowly growing out of hand, and she really couldn't help many more students. Skipping down the halls with her smile in place as usual, Victoria slipped in to the classroom.
"Good morning, Professor Ellingston!" Victoria greeted the professor, having noted his name on her timetable. "I'm Victoria, and it's lovely to have you here!" The witch added, her smile brightening the room as she placed her bag on the floor. No tables, if she was correct, meant a practical lesson, and Victoria was excited for that much. ________________________________________________

| Nilla sauntered down the hall, already intent on choosing a seat near the middle. She stopped dead in the doorway when she saw the lack of desks and chairs. Well, this wouldn't be easy on her leg at all. With a sigh, she trudged the rest of the way in and decided to lean against a wall until class began. It would allow her to keep her weight off her prosthetic without being obvious about it. There was only one other student in the room, a girl several years Nilla's senior and therefore not likely to be good company.
The professor was impeccably dressed in a suit and tie, something Nilla had to applaud him for. Nilla rather liked suits, mostly for the image they presented, but also because a well made one flattered everyone. Of course, she was too young to really wear them and receive any kind of respect. Most people would simply call her cute. Like a child. Adults could be so annoying sometimes. |

| Naomi had conveniently "forgotten" to go to half of the Charms classes last year because of Professor Vane, but she figured that she'd give the new professor a shot. Besides, her Charms work had suffered a bit from missing so many classes, so she really needed to come.
Naomi had made sure to wait for Finley this time and they walked into the class together. Noting the absence of desks and tables, she inferred a practical lesson and turned to give Finley a sympathetic look. "Looks like it's a practical lesson," she said quietly.
Unsure where to go, Naomi stood off to the side of the room awkwardly to wait for the class to start. Honestly, this teacher couldn't be worse than the last, so she was mostly just excited to get back in the swing of Charms. "What do you think we're learning?" she asked Finley in a low voice. |

| Alexander had, somehow, managed to pull himself out of bed early enough that morning to not be late to class. Of course, he wasn't exactly rushing after he'd dressed himself, muttering to himself as his tie wouldn't do up properly his fingers fumbling at the knot with increased frustration until a house elf had appeared.
How those things knew Alexander would never know, but the creature had tied his tie effortlessly before disappearing again.
This hadn't set the Cavendish heir in a very good mood that morning - not that anyone would probably blame him when he'd been shown up by a halfwit like that. Trudging up to the Charms classroom, Alexander had slipped in behind some short kid to find the classroom was devoid of any chairs. An irritated sigh left his lips as he moved to the wall beside the window, dropping his bag by his feet and looking out across the grounds until the professor required his attention. |

| After the incident with Care of Magical Creatures, Naomi and Finley had decided they would head to classes together in future. Which was nice, travelling with Naomi - even if they didn't talk - made Finley feel safer. Though, in fairness, the Gryffindors who usually tormented him had left him alone since Felix had kicked the ring leader in the face.
Whilst Finley didn't like violence, he was quite glad that he wasn't their focus anymore.
As they entered the room, Finley felt his enthusiasm for the class drop a whole lot. Naomi voiced the thought he'd already come up with, and with a slightly saddened look, Finley nodded to show he agreed with her theory.
The question on what he thought it would be made Finley bite his lip for a moment, thinking about what he would answer to that. "I d-don't know." Was his final answer on the question, looking towards the professor who looked a little scary, but not nearly as scary as Professor Vane. Yet.
"H-hopefully something I can d-do." Finley added to his answer, forcing a smile on to his lips so it would look like something of a joke. |

| Jacques had noted Charms come up on his timetable and - after a little bit of careful navigation - had found his way in to the classroom. There were already a number of students in the room, a lot of them older than himself. Jacques simply moved off to the side, leaning against the wall and watching. So far, he'd managed to get away with minimal talking, to anyone, and he was hoping that he could keep this up.
The professor looked like serious business, which made the Clement heir much more comfortable. He wasn't interested in the flimsy professors, or the ones that couldn't hold authority, but this man looked important.
Idly, Jacques wondered what they would be covering in this lesson. Of course he wasn't overly sure on what Charms entailed precisely, but he was looking forward to it no less. But inwardly, Jacques never did outward displays of extreme emotions. ________________________________________________
