| The classroom was back to being clean and tidy, just the way Codey liked it. The lesson for the younger years was going to be a useful one - the mending charm, and he had prepared everything already. Or at least, he had gotten all the items; the students would be preparing the objects themselves. At each desk sat a basket. Inside were a few simple objects: a piece of blank paper, a quill, and a small slab of ceramic.
'Mending Charm' was written on the board behind him in his neat, non-cursive writing. He had seen what most of them were capable of the last time round, and so, today, he was focusing on things that could help them in their daily life. Fun things could come later.
With a casual flick of his wand, he added the words, "Please do not touch the objects on your desk until I say you can," beneath the object of the day.
Seating himself onto his desk as normal, he glanced at his watch and noted the time. The students would be arriving soon, and he allowed a small smile to play on his face so that he wouldn't seem too scary. Hopefully today's lesson would hold some value for them. |

| Finley wasn't sure on Charms, the first lesson hadn't given them much to work with in respect of both the subject and the professor. He still wasn't sure if he liked the professor, but he was still open minded.
Hurrying down the hall with Naomi at his side, Finley got the door for his best friend and then moved to the front. Unlike some of the other professors, Naomi didn't seem to think Professor Ellingston was scary, which was a bonus. Giving the professor a small, nervous smile, Finley took his seat, pulling out his books and pens.
Looking to the board, Finley noted what was on the board. It sounded like a useful spell, that was for sure, and Finley hoped that, with time, he would be able to use it.
Though, in all honesty, he didn't hold out much hope for that. |

| Felix had missed breakfast to help set the classroom right, afterall it was her fault. She stayed behind to wait for the class to start and was sitting in the front row furthest from the door, hoping to stay out of sight, and yet appear as if she was paying attention. She could have done that from the back row, but she had a few other reasons for picking the front row seats this time.
The mending charm looked useful at least, especially since she had a habit of breaking things by accident. She spotted Finley coming in and smiled, hoping he'd look her way so she could wave and say hi. IT felt like ages since she'd last spoke to him, not since the feast at the start of term at least.
?Turning back to the professor her smile faded, still feeling guilty about messing up his classroom not knowing about the change of staff. |

| Charms had come up on Nirek's timetable, and so he had moved through the crowd of student up towards the third floor after breakfast. Nirek wasn't overly keen on getting to the lesson, but he was quite sure he knew somebody that would be. That was enough to lighten Nirek's mood, Finley went to literally every class, so there would be some fun, wouldn't there?
Slipping in to the room, Nirek found that he wasn't wrong either, there was Finley, sitting by himself.
For half a heartbeat, he'd thought of sitting next to the Ravenclaw, for his own amusement, before he remembered the conversation with Madison. Instead, Nirek took a seat just behind the Ravenclaw. "Morning, Finley." Nirek greeted the boy, barely containing the smirk on his lips. From there, Nirek pulled out his notepad and waited for the professor to start the lesson. |

| Being pulled in to Felix's prank had not been something that Jacques had been happy with. He hadn't done anything, and yet the professor had insisted he help put the classroom back to its original state.
Jacques had tried to drag his heels with that, but it seemed Professor Ellingston knew much too much. After helping tidy half of the classroom, Jacques had sat down with a huff at the back of the classroom, muttering to himself in French about how stupid this whole school was, how he didn't like the professor, and how he would much prefer to be home.
With his frustration somewhat consumed by his small rant, Jacques reached down for his bag and took out his book for the lesson and got ready for it to start. He already knew he was going to get Felix back for pulling him in to this mess, but he didn't know how. Not yet anyway. ________________________________________________ | |

| Naomi walked to Charms with Finley, as had become their normal routine after her slip up with their first classes. She was careful not to leave him behind this time.
Slipping inside the classroom ahead of Finley, she smiled at the professor as they moved to the front row. Professor Ellingston couldn't be nearly as bad as their professor from last year, and he seemed nice enough, so she wasn't as nervous as she was around some of the other professors.
As they waited for class to start, Naomi pulled out a scrap of paper, deciding to work on her figures, attempting to sketch Professor Ellingston. Looking at her first effort, she winced and crumpled it up, hoping the professor would never see it. Or anyone else for that matter. She pulled out new parchment and started over.
Naomi didn't miss Nirek coming in the door, so she wasn't startled when his voice sounded from behind them. "What, I don't get a hello?" she asked dryly, but so quietly that he probably hadn't heard her. |

| Alberi walked to Charms class, head down. Besides the Hippogriff incident which had occupied the boys head, another thing was the fact that it made him lose his first Charms lesson. During time he was sick or at least pretending to be such, the first lesson had went by. And he felt rather foolish that he had forgotten about it. Perhaps he could think of something...
He walked into the room and just looked quickly to where he was going to sit down. He definitely didn't want to look at people who had actually been to this class the time before. Well, he guessed that at least. The boy walked to the front of the class and sat down, before searching for everything he'll need in this class in his rucksack.
After that he looked at the board and read what they will be learning. The Mending Spell, it seemed. He wondered what exactly they understand be doing. That spell didn't really interest the boy but he guessed he'd have to learn it. Reviewing quickly what he read, he tried to remember the name of the spell and overall what he knew for it.

| He took his time, walking down the corridor in a slow pace despite knowing he was close to being late. Charms was an interesting class, especially with the new Professor, and while he did not want to miss much, he had gotten particularly excited over some Quidditch news, and got himself too worked up. It ended with his needing two puffs from his inhaler, but Stephan had made him promise to slow down.
So, Caelan took his own sweet time, arriving at the classroom just minutes away from the start of the lesson, and moved to the front seat, away from anyone else. A few moments later, Stephan - who had run to the owlery to send a letter to his parents - joined him.
Looking at the objects in front on him, Caelan gave the Professor his usual 'hello' before taking in the object of the day. "That looks like it would be useful," he murmured to the boy beside him, who agreed at once. Taking out his notebook, Caelan waited for the start of the lesson, forcing down the excitement of learning a new spell.

| She was running a bit behind schedule, but did not really mind. It wasn't anything truly important - the only lessons she truly enjoyed and looked forward to were the ones with Josh. They taught her things she actually needed to know. Everything else came second, although, she had to admit, Charms and DADA were somewhat useful. After all, she learnt magic that could be used to her benefit.
Professor Codey, however, was not someone she liked. He was too much of an observer - and, from what she had heard, used to run an illicit dragon fighting operation back in his day - to be of any use to her. In fact, Madison always had to be extra careful around him because of this.
Entering class, a light smirk touched her features as she saw where Nirek was sitting, and where Finley was. He had Naomi next to him, and, correcting her features almost immediately, smiled brightly as she made her way to where the Gryffindor was. "Do you mind if I join you, Nirek?" she asked casually, not waiting for a reply before dumping her bag there and turning her attention to greeting the Professor, followed shortly with a cheerful 'good morning' to Finley and Naomi.
Leaning back in her chair, she glanced around, already growing slightly bored, and waited for the lesson to be done and over with. |

| The first two students to arrive were two of the quieter ones. They never disrupted classes, and never stepped a toe out of line. For most Professors, they would be the favourites; but Codey did not do things like that, and instead treated all his students with the same respect that they showed him. Returning the smile given to him by the Ravenclaw, Codey hid a worried expression. From what he had heard and seen, Finley had an issue with spells. Making a mental note to watch out for him and try and spot where the boy was going wrong, Codey turned his attention to the next few people who entered.
It was then he realized that Felix had not left the entire time. That probably meant she skipped breakfast, and Codey held in a sigh. It was one thing to be sorry for ones actions, but it was another thing altogether when one did not accept forgiveness. He was certain he had made it clear he bore no hard feelings, but, just to be on the safe side, he quietly summoned an apple and a chocolate frog. Moving towards her table, he dropped them onto her desk. "Here. Magic should not be attempted on an empty stomach," he told her with a friendly wink. "You're not in trouble, so please don't worry."
Making another mental note to watch out for Jacques (the boy looked to be angry at either him, Felix, or both, and he did not want anything happening during his class), Codey sat himself back onto his desk, looking around and taking in everyone and everything.
Glancing down at his watch as a second Slytherin arrived, he noted the time and stood up. "Shall we get started?" he asked, skipping straight past the introduction or greeting - he had already done, repeating the exact same greeting he had gotten as each person came in. "I'm quite certain that the name of the spell says it all, so I don't need you to tell me the uses for what we will be covering today. Rather, I would like you to tell me the technical aspects - the spell, the wand movements, and the like. One answer per person, please." |
