Zoey walked down the castle halls towards her first class of the day, Muggle Studies. She had no issues what so ever with this class, being a half blood. So she knew a bit about muggle items and what they were used for. As she entered the classroom, she noticed a few students were already there. She scanned the classroom until she found an empty corner and sat in a chair in that area. She took out her supplies and spread them out in front of her, her normal preparation for a class. Quill, ink pot, parchment, text book, backup quill, back up ink pot. It was the same every class. After preparing she looked around again. Her eyes eventually landed on the front of the classroom and a wide smile broke out across her face when she saw the subject of the days lesson. Muggle Photography. Zoey loved photography. It was a form of art in her mind, and Zoey loved all kinds of art. She grew up taking pictures of her friends and family with her fathers muggle camera. She loved it. She couldn't wait for the lesson to begin

Muggle Studies was one of the lessons what Brayden seems to tolerate. He doesn't have anything against muggles really but yeah he isn't really that big fan of every muggle technology. This class could be at times boring for him but he still did come here at times since this class can be at times even fun too. It all depends on what they will learn there.

As usual, he walked into the classroom and greeted professor. He did sit down somewhere were still free seat. He looked over the board and sighed. He actually knew a little bit about the topic but he wasn't really a very big fan of taking pictures with muggle cameras for sure.

He knew that someone of his friends like taking pictures so he decided to enjoy this lesson as much he can. Maybe he will even learn something new from this class. He has taken few pictures with his phone actually. He isn't really very into the social media stuff but he uses it at times. To keep up with his some friends who he has there.

Now, muggle studies wasn't really something that Corbin would say he particularly enjoyed. It was mostly just entertaining to see how muggles did things -- that and there were some particularly interesting things he then could buy for himself later on. Not only that but he had friends in that class, and even if he didn't, he used it as a chance to watch others and see if anyone was talking about parties or things they shouldn't.

Also, he was prefect, and it looked good.

How in Merlin's name he had made prefect, Corbin would never, ever understand. Him and Lucy, the ones who held parties and brought in alcohol for underaged kids, prefects... It was almost laughable -- no, it was laughable, and he and his friends had almost wet themselves when he got the letter.

But a prefect he was (and with that came the benefit of prefect bathrooms) and so Muggle Studies it was. He entered the class, glancing around. The new professor looked like he'd be a load of fun (and from what he'd heard, was a load of fun), but he hadn't expected him to be so... shaggy.

Still, as Corbin took a seat in the front row and nodded a greeting to the Professor, he couldn't help but wonder what was going to happen. So far, nothing looked interesting.

Joshua had decided that he would not take his personal troubles into his classes. If he planned on leaving his seventh year anytime in the near future, he would try to at least smile and nod as if he was listening to what the professor was saying. Plus, he now had a secret weapon. He had already unleashed this special item on his Defense Against the Dark Arts class, but his sweet new ride was so incredible that it would be unfair for only one group of people to feast their eyes upon it.

As every cool wizard does, Joshua wheeled his way down the hall on his way to Muggle studies carrying a small black bag. How could he waste the opportunity to show the wizarding world just how cool muggle-borns could be? After all, his current whip had come from a muggle furniture paradise.

Thinking back to the time in which the chair was purchased, Joshua decided that he like to live in an IKEA. Life would be easier within such a magical place. He would never have to leave; there would always be food and water available to him. The other upside to living in an IKEA; no rent. His parents would have to call or visit him if they wanted to make sure that their son was still breathing. But who knew? Maybe they didn't care.

The sound of his wheels against the ground rang through the hall as he finally reached the Muggle Studies classroom. Being the intelligent individual that he was, Joshua almost fell face first into the door as he struggled to open it from his seated position. But because he was awesome as he was, the boy managed to enter the room without dying.

Clutching the pouch to his side, he wheeled over to where the ever-famous Corbin Henderson was sitting. In front of Corbin, sat a polaroid camera. Joshua smiled. He knew that he'd chosen the right day to ride a chair.

"Like my ride?" He asked Corbin. "It's IKEA."

Muggle studies seemed to be one the lessons where Hazel actually seemed to be good. She just knew few things about muggle world and those things she knew she even used them herself. She knew what was a phone and few other things around for sure. She was halfblood but she did spend some time in muggle world too. Since that was interesting there.

She walked into the classroom with a small smile on her face. She looked around the classroom for some empty seats. She soon enough found one and she took a seat there. "Oh, hello, professor," she said with a small smile on her face still. She seemed to be in good mood today.

She looked at the camera what was basically on her table there. She had never really used one like that before. She lately seems to use her phone camera when she wants to take pictures but she has seen one camera before for sure. She basically probably even knew how to use them.

Muggle studies. There was not a single letter in the name of this class that could possibly begin to convince Ambroise of this class's necessity. As a Pureblood, he lived in a world of constant magic. Every aspect of his world could be controlled by a wand without any need of intervention from the trivial inventions of muggles.

How could he be in need of a million single objects that were each devoted to a single purpose when he came from the world in which one single piece of wood could do an unimaginable amount of things at once.

He could not have begun to describe the objects that sat atop each of the tables. The board told the class that they would be talking about photography, meaning that these small boxes were cameras.

Muggle photography was one of the biggest jokes of the muggle world. They captured still images of things that wizard photography would capture in living colour. Why would he want to use inferior technology to obtain an inferior outcome?

He sat in the middle of the room, waiting to see how the teacher would sugar coat the work of the muggles.

Rebekah dreaded going to Muggle studies, but she promised both her mother and Zoey that she would attend the class this semester to learn more about the muggle world, being a half blood. She did not want to go, but she would end up doing it.

She slowly got out of bed and made her way to the classroom for the Muggle Studies lesson. She raised an eyebrow as she saw the muggle cameras and scoffed "Pictures? We are going to learn about taking pictures?" She rolled her eyes before scanning the classroom for people she knew.

She saw a few of her housemates, like Cade Sawyer, Cassieopia Mercer, and Toryn Callagham. She also saw that awful boy Ambroise Durand, who she just stuck her nose up at and continued to look. She smiled as her eyes landed on Zoey and she walked over to her friend and sat by her

As students began to trickle in, Blake couldn't help but marvel at the number of Purebloods taking the class, according to the roster of those who had signed up. There was that Richardson girl (he knew, naturally, about the Richardsons). The interaction from a fellow Muggleborn, though, caught his interest, and while he pretended to be fiddling with his camera, he was listening intently. Was there anything suspicious about it? No. It sounded more like a lover's quarrel than anything else.

More students came in, and Blake greeted those who greeted him with either a nod, a smile, or both. But then a Hufflepuff boy came in and Blake's instincts went off the moment the male looked at him. He'd seen looks like that before -- cold, calculating, sometimes intimidating -- but he'd never seen it from a (he went through the list of students quickly) fifth-year male. Mathew Howard, he noted, was someone to watch out for -- and never, under and circumstances, underestimate.

The following student made him chuckle inwardly; she had blushed, albeit lightly (but Blake was trained in human body language observation and hardly, if ever, missed anything). He'd have a field day telling Andi -- if he could get a letter to her -- although he was certain she'd take him down a notch.

And then, to his utmost amusement, an echoing squeak reached his ears and he glanced towards the door in time to see a Hufflepuff male enter in a ... chair. Blake watched, a single eyebrow raised, as he rolled over to a Slytherin.

"Next lesson, Abbott," Blake called out from his position on the desk, "Perhaps you'd like to give us a history on IKEA, since you seem to love their furniture so much? I mean, they do have pretty awesome stuff -- and equally weird things, too -- so, for extra credit, you could write me an essay on your favourite furniture in IKEA and why you like it."

The last few students arrived before Blake checked his watch and noted it was time to begin. From his position on the desk, he cleared his throat. "Good morning class. I'm your new Professor -- obviously; unless he (I?) took a polyjuice potion for whatever reason, although I don't see why I (he?) would. My name is Blake Mason. You can call me Professor Mason, Professor Blake, or Professor Whatever-the-heck-you-want. I'm not fussy."

He paused for a moment, then motion to the cameras on their tables. "Obviously, you already know that's a camera. To be more specific, it's a polaroid camera. What are differences between a normal digital camera, a non-digital camera, and a polaroid? One answer each. And for Merlin's sake, don't say 'one's digital and the other isn't' because that's just a lazy answer and I'm already providing it for you -- yes, I'm that lazy."

Zoey smiled as the lesson began. She was actually really excited to be learning about this subject. Even though she knew a bit about cameras, it would be interesting to learn the more in depth details of the camera.

When their professor introduced himself she giggled a bit "Professor whatever the heck we want?" She asked mumbling under her breath as she did so. This professor was funny, she had a feeling she would enjoy the class. Even Rebekah might enjoy. She looked over at her friend, who naturally, was the last to arrive before the lesson had started.

She smiled before turning back to Professor Mason when he asked a question. She thought for a moment before raising her hand "Digital cameras provide a playback option to show the taker the picture they just took. If they dont like it, they can simply delete it and try again. You do not get that with Non digital cameras."

PostSubject: Re: Muggle Studies: Lesson 1 (All Years)   Muggle Studies: Lesson 1 (All Years) - Page 2 EmptySat May 13, 2017 12:07 pm

As more students arrived, Stephanie began to feel rather self-conscious and awkward. Would people question why she was attending the very class she dissed? Would anyone notice that the high and mighty Pureblood - who made sure none of her friends associated with Muggleborns if they wanted to stay friends - was now attending Muggle Studies? It was no well-kept secret that Stephanie Richardson did not associate herself with anything to do with Muggles. At least she knew that none of her "friends" would be here. That brought her some comfort. She wouldn't have to explain her presence in this class to them.

There was only one person she hoped would feel like taking a leave of absence for this particular class.

Unfortunately, things did not always turn out the way she hoped.

The moment her ears registered her name said in that familiar voice, her heart sank and her face heated up. This, if not anything else, was embarrassing. She kept her eyes down as he fumbled over his words - something that surprised her. Was he going to tease her? Mock her? Ask her why she was here when she'd been so adamant in her dislike for his kind?

But then she heard the word "apologise" and her head shot up, eyes locking onto his, wide with shock. He was...apologising? Of all things he could've said or done, he wanted to say sorry? Too stunned to come up with a reply, Stephanie's gaze followed him to his seat as she tried to digest what had just happened.

If it had been about any other subject than the one they'd discussed so heatedly, she would've expected an apology. She would never let anyone talk to her the way he did and get away with it. In fact, she'd made many people apologise to her when she felt they did not treat her with the respect she deserved. But Toryn? Toryn had a point in his argument - the whole reason she was here. Sure, the way he'd spoken to her was unacceptable, but what he had said was a whole other matter, and Stephanie didn't think he had to apologise for that.

The unprofessional-looking professor started the class, but Stephanie's gaze remained glued to the back of Toryn's head, her mind whirling with so many thoughts that she completely missed everything the professor had said. It wasn't until a girl spoke up that she shook herself out of her stupor and listened. She hadn't heard the question but could guess from the Ravenclaw's answer that it had to do with the different types of cameras. Since she didn't really know that much, Stephanie kept quiet.
