| Rules
- NO MAGIC - Participate - Make sure to study - Learn about the internet - Learn one fact about muggle life and bring it to class to discuss - Don’t sit alone Ryan had chosen to leave the rules up for the following class, and so he took out a box with muggle books that he had placed by his desk the day before and began to put one book on each. To Kill A Mockingbird, Life of Pi, and Brave New World were a few of the books that found their way to the students’ desks. There was not much to do before the students arrived, so Ryan decided it was best to get himself another cup of coffee before anyone appeared. It would be unfortunate if he fell asleep while teaching, both for him and for the students. Taking his empty mug, Ryan glanced around to make sure every desk had a book on top and walked out to the Great Hall. He would return, but it seemed appropriate to leave the classroom open for the students to accommodate themselves as they came in. - BOOKS:
Basically, just make your student choose a seat, and then pick a book from the list. There'll be very short and easy questions about them, all of which you will be able to google in case you haven't actually read the book yourself.
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle
The Lorax by Dr. Seuss
On the Road by Jack Kerouac
Anthem by Ayn Rand

| Muggle Studies seemed an appropriate class for Bella to take. She had grown up with magic so surely she could learn a thing or two about Muggle life. As she walked in to the room, she found it empty aside from books on desks and writing on the board. From the registration form, she knew the professor was new and also a man by the name of Ryan Ackerman, a funny name overall if Bella was to be honest. He must have woken up late or something as he wasn't around. Choosing a spot in the middle row, Bella looked down at the book on top of her desk.
On the Road by Jack Kerouac
There was a blurred car on the cover, and names that Bella didn't recognize. Skimming through it, the ow pages let out the okd-book smell Bella wasn't very fond of. Putting it aside, she figured they would have to read parts of it in class, but upon glancing around she discovered that every book was different. What could they possibly be doing with all these books?
Her blue eyes quickly scanned the rest of the room before settling in the board, where the rules were handwritten in cursive. All of them seemed fine, she figured the magic prohibition was to enhance the meaning of the class, which she understood but didn't like. She was about to ask what the internet was when she remembered the room was empty. |

| Naturally, Nora had gotten up early, eaten a good breakfast, as breakfast was the most important meal of the day, and headed to her first class which was muggle studies. Since she had grown up with two muggle mums she thought this class would be the easier one among the other subjects she had chosen to take. When she arrived, she saw a girl she didn't recognize in the room. Being a tad shy, Nora decided to take a seat in the far side of the room in the front row. She read the board and approved the rules. Books. There was something Nora loved. She liked this teacher already and she hadn't even met him. Nora looked at the book list, and she was pleased to see that she had read a majority of them.
She had been rather bored over the summer and her mums didn't have time to take her on a holiday like they did most summers. She decided not to cheat and pick a book she hadn't read. A wrinkle in time seemed interesting. So she went with that. Nora enjoyed most books she read, and found it silly to chose the kids books, and something more challenging. Nora already knew of the internet, and since she WAS a muggleborn, she knew plenty of facts about them.
She smiled. This class was going to be easy. She took out some parchment for notes, as she would most definitely be needing them, she was going to ace this class, AND be the at the top. Being a muggleborn she gave herself no option. |
