Julienne knew a bit about potions, as she had read through the textbook once or twice during partnered assignments in class. The class was not primarily partner work. In fact, it barely was at all. But it did happen every so often. Avoiding assignments for no reason other than a fear of working with another student was not something a traditionally "good" student would do, but Julienne hoped that her social paranoia didn't peg her as lazy or unwilling to put forth the effort in class. She wanted to learn, but preferably by herself.
As she walked into the classroom, there were five vials to a seat. There was also an instruction that told each student to sit at least one seat apart from each other. Julienne smiled at this. Perhaps this was how all of the potions classes would be from now on; isolated work being done by independent students.
She soon realized that this format had been put in place for a test. She didn't mind the test, she believed she was prepared. It was the seating that disappointed her. Why couldn't this be permanent?
