Potions: Lesson One (All Years) Empty
PostSubject: Potions: Lesson One (All Years)   Potions: Lesson One (All Years) EmptySun Apr 30, 2017 8:40 am

The summer had been very restless for James. With his daughter having been born, and him not not having the excuse of being at school to aid him, he'd learned first hand what being a father was all about. Getting up at silly o'clock in the morning to calm the small child until she slept once more, changing nappies full of baby poop to the point of almost throwing up from the smell, dealing with his clothes being splattered with baby sick. James had dealt with it all.

Though, he hadn't dealt with it quietly.

Getting away from that, if only briefly, had therefore been a welcome break for James as he made his way back to the sanctuary that was the Potions Room in the dungeons. Setting up his room, James took a seat at his desk, reading through the latest edition of the Potions magazine for which he'd subscribed. In there, with his newly created potion he'd made over the summer for the school's treasure hunt, was James' name. A new creation. Patented. And making him more money than you'd believe.

The board was devoid of any information on what they'd be doing today, but James' notes on the Wiggenweld Potion lay before him, ready to teach the class this potion.

Cade had dreaded his first week of school, having been filled with classes he had no use for. The boy had known that he could not run away from the school. But the boy knew that he had to somewhat get his act together, as he had decided to make his way to class. Knowing he had the class that he was not exactly fond of. And had been basically a menace at the subject. The boy thought of the idea of skipping.

But he knew that he was too close to the class to actually skip it, and the professor had kind of scared him, partially contributing to why he disliked the class. Cade had ran his hand through his hair as he was walking through the dungeons to Potions. Wondering, if maybe this year would be any different, but then again life was only what he made it. Something his parents had constantly reminded of growing up.

He had felt himself getting closer to the class, beginning to wonder if it would too late to skip the class. Cade then just rolled his eyes, seeing the opening coming closer in his view. As he entered the classroom to see Professor Balan sitting at his desk, reading a Potion magazine, that he sighed when he saw.

The boy had looked on the board and sighed, as he made his way to the closest desk. Hoping the professor would simply act like he was not there, taking a seat as he felt like just laying his head the desk and fall asleep, then participate in the class he was bad at.

Potions: Lesson One (All Years) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Potions: Lesson One (All Years)   Potions: Lesson One (All Years) EmptySun Apr 30, 2017 10:33 am

Summer was over. Regrettably so. There had been some complications in him returning back home so he'd lost two weeks of his holiday. He more than made up for it though, reconnecting with his friends once he got back and spending almost everyday out with them. How he missed his community and old school! He'd even gone to visit his school just for the nostalgia of it and met up with each of his teachers. The only hard part was answering their many questions. Of course, he had to lie about it, but he kept it simple, just saying that he was in a private school. None of them could understand why he'd gone to a Hearing school and not stayed with his community. To that, he just shrugged and gave some made up half-hearted answers and changed the topic quickly.

Besides hanging out with all his old friends, the best part of summer was that hadn't used his voice. At all. In school, he'd been using more and more of his voice just so people could understand him and he didn't have to go through the hassle of miming and scribbling down on pieces of paper - which he couldn't do fast enough to keep up with a group conversation for their projects. At least he had Amber now. That was a definite blessing. And Max. Though his friend couldn't not sign, it still felt good to know that he could call someone other than Amber his friend.

Entering the classroom, Elleon took up his usual seat at the front. Nothing on the board gave him a clue as to what they were doing today and Elleon hoped that the professor wouldn't make this a habit. He'd graduated that year, but he was still a year behind and could not afford any mishaps. He glanced at the professor and saw him absorbed in his magazine. He'd heard - more like lipread - through the grapvine that Professor Balan had a kid. Elleon just could not picture him being a father. He pretty sure the man hated kids and Elleon didn't knowwhy he chose to have one of his own when he could not be friendly to the class. But it was none of his business. Instead, he took out his sketchbook as always and began another doodle.

Potions: Lesson One (All Years) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Potions: Lesson One (All Years)   Potions: Lesson One (All Years) EmptyMon May 01, 2017 2:17 am

Lainee had been making her way to Potions, the girl had thought of the subject, as being okay not like it would be her first pick of a class to take. Mainly, because the professor did not seem to be at all fond of the kids. The girl even wondered if the man could even handle his own kids, and with that the girl looked and wondered. She had began walking down to the dungeons, and had wondered if maybe the man could have lightened up over the summer.

She had then hoped maybe she could find one of her friends, there so she would not have to pay attention to the professor. Then again Lainee knew she was not going to get good grades if that was how she operated things. She needed to have a job in the future, and not be like her older brother Daxton who could care less about school, only with bashing Quidditch balls at others, and seeing what he could accomplish.

The Ravenclaw, had soon arrived at the classroom, entering it. Finding the professor to be sitting in a chair reading a Potion magazine. She had rolled her eyes as she entered, finding herself a seat in the middle which she took a seat. As she began to get all her belongings out, and with that she wondered if maybe she would see one of her siblings.

Even though she knew that if not, the girl had been fine with that. As she began writing in her notes as she waited for the class to start, and they could begin brewing Potions.

Potions: Lesson One (All Years) Empty

Delilah wasn't really very excited about potions class right now. She hasn't been very good in this class lately but she still seems to show up here. She just wants to pass her years without no problems really. She tried to attend to so many classes as she can.

She walked into the classroom with a small smile on her face. She was happy for some reasons she wasn't even herself sure yet. She had basically made a friend over summer but then again they haven't met here in Hogwarts really yet. She greeted the professor and looked around the classroom.

She noticed there the boy named Cade, who seemed to sleep there already even if the lesson hasn't even started yet. She remembered that boy didn't really like to attend lessons. She walked over his table and sat down next to him basically.

"Hey," she said and was poking even him so she could get his attention there now. Maybe she can make him stay up for this lesson.

OOC: Basically it's okay to that Del disturbs Cade there. Katie Une allowed it.

Zoey was looking forward to her potions lesson for the day, she enjoyed potions. She liked the concept of creating something from nothing, being able to slip something in someones drink and determine their fate. It all fascinated her. She smiled at her professor as she walked into the classroom "Good morning, Professor Balan." She said as she looked for a seat. She found one and walked over to it, sitting down next to a Hufflepuff boy. She did her normal class routine of setting up all her utensils before she turned to the boy beside her and smiled. "Hello. Im Zoey, Zoey Kingsley." She knew the boy, he was only a year ahead of her. But she was trying to remember his name. SHe knew it was something unique. It started with an E, but she couldn't remember it for the life of her. Oh well, she was pretty sure he would introduce himself, as she had done so to him.

Potions: Lesson One (All Years) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Potions: Lesson One (All Years)   Potions: Lesson One (All Years) EmptyMon May 01, 2017 7:09 pm

Potions. Her favorite lesson by far. The Summer was over and the only reason Elyah was glad to be back for was Potions. The subject was amazing, she was good at it, and that meant that she was kinda close to impressing Professor Balan with her abilities. Sort of. So once she saw that her next lesson would be Potions, Elyah practically run to the Dungeons, wanting to be one of the first students there, just to find the perfect seat.

Sadly for her, there were a couple of people there already, but things were still under control. Finding her usual seat towards the front, Elyah took out her notebook, ready to keep notes. Max hadn't arrived yet, but the Huflepuff was sure he would be walking in at any minute so she kept the seat next to her available. She knew that he would probably sit with Prim, but she had nothing to lose. Instead of think about that though, Elyah turned back to the Professor and gave him a small nod. Then she waited quietly for the lesson to start.

Potions have never been really Brayden's best subject for sure. He always seems to mess thing up her but still, he decided to attend to this lesson. There is always the way that lessons go better than last year or so. He isn't really someone who gives up because things are hard. He will still try to keep doing it.

He walked in the classroom. "Hello, professor," he said with a small smile. This time he decided to sit down somewhere his own. He knew Lainee was even in this class since he had noticed it but he didn't really wanna spend every minute with her. He tried to keep his distance at the moment at times. He still tried to understand somethings there.

He wasn't sure what to expect this lesson. He took needed supplies for this class out and began to wait for the lesson to start now. He just hoped he won't mess potion up today.

Potions Roxanne liked. The Potion's Professor she couldn't stand, not really. The man was a great Potion's master, there was no denying that, but when it came to teaching them the Potions, he left a lot to be desired; thankfully Roxy wasn't one of those people who had no idea what they were supposed to be doing so she just bore with it like any respectable pureblood should, with a blank mask and only the barest of interactions with her Professor.

Making her way into the classroom, Roxanne took in the students scattered around the different seats before she made her way towards the middle of the room where she sat in one of the many chairs, pulling out her Potions' book and equipment before relaxing in her seat and waiting for instructions that day.
Whatever Potion they were doing she hoped it would be a fun lesson to have at least.

Oliver quite liked potions, it was a subject that he was more than a little bit good at. Therefore, it was an obvious choice that he was going to attend the lesson today. Hurrying across the dungeons from the Hufflepuff Common Room to the Potions classroom was one of the few tolerable commutes to classes that Oliver had.

As he walked, he wondered if Serenity would be attending the class today. He hadn't managed to catch her thus far, and he was wondering if, perhaps, she was ignoring him. No, he corrected himself, it was just that they had yet to cross paths. With time, they would, and they would be able to hang out.

Stepping through the classroom door, the boy offered a smile to Professor Balan before finding a free seat and sitting down. A glance at the board didn't tell him what they were studying, so perhaps Professor Balan had changed his teaching style - not that that would hurt!
