Zoey turned her head to the other side of her when a boy from Hufflepuff sat in a near by empty seat. She looked at the chair he had sat down in then slowly raised her eyes to meet his face "Hello." She said in a soft tone.

To say she didnt know what to say was an understatement. Zoey was not used to people initiating contact, not that he had done that simply by sitting down. But now Zoey felt obligated to do so, and she had absolutely no idea why she felt that way.

She bit her lip gently before muttering a simple word towards the boy "Hello." Now that she had done that, she felt a bit more comfortable "Im Zoey." She said taking a bit of a chance at actual communication with the Hufflepuff boy. She wasnt sure what to say or do after that. She wished Rebekah were there, she was always so good at talking to people

To say that Ambroise excelled in potions class was an understatement, as any fool had the ability to follow directions on a page without screwing up. Any mistake that one made during a class such as this was a mistake created by nothing except for human error. Potion making held the potioneer accountable for every inch of their body that moved during the process. There was no room for carelessness. Ambroise appreciated the straightforwardness of this class.

He walked into the room to see that students had already begun to fill the seats. The first thing that he noticed was the fact that the board was void of any indication as to what the lesson for that day would be. It added to the mystery of the lesson, he figured. But it was still odd.

Ambroise took a seat in the back of the classroom, crossing his arms over his torso as he waited for the lesson to begin.

Rebekah sure as hell did not want to attend morning classes, they were so early and did not give her enough time to properly wake up. But she had no choice. So, she made her way from the Great hall to the dungeons for her potions lesson.

She walked into the potions class room and raised an eyebrow as there was no lesson plan on the board. She did not know what to do with the lack of information so she looked around for some kind of clue as to what they might be learning, but failed to find one.

She sighed rather loudly and dropped down into one of the seats in the middle of the classroom and waited for the lesson to begin so they could learn what they would be talking about. She crossed her arms on top of the desk and rested her head down on them since she felt so tired

Potions were something that Cassiopeia could tolerate even if she wasn't really that good in here. She could follow instruction for making potions easily but there was still always the chance that she could mess things up. She didn't care much about her grades really. She never really has. But this year she know she needs to pass her NEWT's with good grades.

She walked into the classroom and looked around there. "Oh, hello," she realised she should say it too. She walked towards the first empty seat. She didn't really care that much about where she did sit. She just wanted this class to be over soon. She looked up the board. She saw there nothing so she raised her eyebrow. That was new.

She wasn't sure what they will learn today so that made her sigh. She looked around the classroom, so she could see who were in this class today. She just was bored at the moment.

Potions were everywhere you turn even in different forms that weren't recognized. Gaspard thought that besides the healing and poisoning factor, wizards still didn't know how much Potions could actually do. They'd only begun to realize the possibilities that lie within them. Such as Polyjuice Potion and Veritaserum. The twelve year old desperatley wished to be part of those that learn how to create something new and have it be used for a practical purpose like the Wolfsbane Potion. That was one of the reasons that Gaspard wished to learn the craft of Potion making.

The boy hadn't wanted to miss his first ever lesson, so he'd left early but apparently it hadn't been early enough. While ideally he'd wanted a seat closer to the front, perhaps it would prove beneficial if he sat in the back. That way he wouldn't make an easier target? Having claimed a seat, he'd gotten his things out and set them just so. Taking out his potions book, he propped it up using his knees and the edge of the desk.

The class filled up, but James ignored all of his students. As always. He had no time for idle chit chat, or slackers. His classroom was for learning, and learning would be insisted upon. Anyone who didn't like it was more than welcome to leave.

Which was why it probably hadn't been a wise idea for Mr Sawyer to attend today's lesson. Levitating a particularly heavy book across the room, James dropped it just next to Cade's head, making a loud bang instill throughout the room. That, should, hopefully, get everyone's attention, the Potions Master had decided.

"Five points from Huffelpuff for disrespectful behaviour, Mr Sawyer, if you can't come to my lesson and pay attention, don't bother coming next time." James told the boy, making it quite clear to the whole room that he wasn't going to stand for such nonsense.

James, however, was not done there, and turned his attention to the Ravenclaw witch who had introduced herself to more than one person in the room. "And, Miss Kingsley, my classroom is not a place to try to find your future husband. Five points from Ravenclaw for being so pushy towards the male students in the room." James added, before focusing.

"Now we've got the childish antics finished with, we can make a start on today's lesson." James announced, features stern because he did not want or need any other interruptions in this lesson. "Today we will be looking at the Wiggenweld Potion. Who knows what this potion is? What does it do? Where is it useful? What ingredients will we need to make it?" James asked, looking around them all for answers.

Zoey jumped in shock at the sound of a dropping book and noticed that their professor was ready to start the lesson. Finally, she could get some learning done. but soon, her joy turned to embarrassment and shock as Professor James took points from her for no reason. Well, he had given her a reason, but it was a stupid reason. Zoey was a friendly person. She could not help that. She sighed and rested her head on her desk for a moment before slowly raising it back up.

When Professor James announced they would be learning about the Wiggenweld potion she smiled softly. SHe knew about this potion. She raised her hand and decided to answer one of the questions he had asked them.

"The Wiggenweld potion is a healing potion with the power to awaken a person from a magically induced sleep. Which also gives it the ability to reverse the effects of the Draught of Living Death." She said hoping to gain back the points she had lost due to talking to people.

The loud bang caused Gaspard to jump in his seat nearly causing him to drop his book. Only by having quickly clamped his legs together did he stop his book from tumbling to the floor. Having retrieved his book as the professor deducted points, the boy nearly glared at his fellow Ravenclaw when points were taken from them as well. Biting the inside of his lip, he kept his eyes on the professor as he placed his book on the desk in front of him. He really shouldn't be upset at the girl for losing points since to be fair a lot of people lost their houses points and then earned them right back. And it seemed that the girl had that idea in mind because her hand went up before Gaspard's could and answered part of the question.

While inwardly he wanted to sulk at not being the first person to answer the question, the boy blinked as he listened to the answer. It was a different one than he would have given and while he might have heard of this potion, he'd never brewed it or seen it in use. Well, he'd read in a book his father had restored about the real story of Sleeping Beauty and that she'd been awaken by the potion their professor was asking them about today. And while he had no idea what ingredients were in there, he could hazard a guess where it would be useful.

Raising his own hand he stated, "It would be useful at hospitals and schools."

As Elleon waited for the class to begin, he began to doodle. Though he was focused on his work and making each stroke of his pen precise, he unconsciously kept an eye out on his surroundings. Being Deaf heightened his other senses, and he'd learned - the hard way - to always be aware of what was happening around him, which was why he he'd spotted a girl heading his way before she even sat down. As she drew nearer, he began hoping that she would choose another seat. His hopes were dashed when she sat next to him.

It was where Amber normally sat.

And Elleon didn't like that at all.

True, Amber hadn't yet come to class, and she may not even come at all, but Elleon wasn't used to sitting beside anyone else. Even before Amber transferred here, he'd sat alone in all his classes. Most people tended to avoid him. He kept his eyes on his work, moving his pen across the paper though he'd lost the inspiration to draw. Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw her arranging her things on the table. Perhaps she would be a quiet girl and wouldn't strike up conversation at all. Again, his heart sank when he saw her turning to him.

He lifted his eyes from his unfinished sketch, his gaze locking on her lips as his brain began the familiar process of guess-the-word-and-fill-in-the-blanks. He could tell that she was introducing herself to him, but all he caught of the name was an o-sound followed by a ee-sound. What could it be? Chloe? Joey? Zoe? Unsure and not wanting to get her name wrong, he merely smiled at her before flipping the page to a clean one and writing I'm Elleon, showing it to her once he was finished. He'd wanted to add that she should move because she was sitting in Amber's usual seat, but he didn't. They could sort that out later if Amber came.

Not long after that, the professor started the class by levitating a book. Elleon's gaze followed it to where it landed near a boy with what he presumed was a loud sound, judging by the way Chloe/Joey/Zoe jumped beside him. It didn't bother him. The loud sound, not the throwing of the book. His eyes flew back to the professor, just in time to see that he'd deducted points from both his house and Ravenclaw. What? But, but that isn't fair. Sure, Cade might have been disrespectful, but Professor Balan could have easily made him brew an extra potion or write an essay or some other individual punishment instead of deducting points from the whole house.

But apparently, Professor Balan hadn't yet exhausted his bad mood and proceeded to deduct points from Ravenclaw as well. What, is it deducting points class today? He didn't have time to stew over it because Professor Balan went on with the lesson, a potion that began with 'w' and had 'w' somewhere in the middle. Before he could figure it out, Chloe/Joey/Zoe raised her hand and answered the question. And of course, since she was sitting right beside him, there was no way he could read her lips. He scanned the classroom, spotting another student who raised his hand to answer. No luck there either. He was too far away to read.

He was almost going to raise his hand when something in his brain clicked. Wiggenweld. That's it! How could he have been so slow with that? Guessing that neither of the two people who answered talked about the ingredients - since from his experience, most of them answered 'what it was' and 'what it was for' - he decided to tackle that question.

Neatly, he wrote out on a clean piece of parchment:

Lionfish spine, salamander blood, honeywater, and flobberworm mucus are some of the ingredients.

He raised his hand and held the sheet up, hoping he'd written the words big enough that Professor Balan could read it easily, and that he wouldn't be condemned for writing it out instead of answering verbally.

When Zoey answered the question set, only a few moments after he'd deducted points from her, James knew that she was trying to win back the points. However, her word for word (i.e. copied, without thinking) answer, did little to impress him. "Yes, that's true." James growled to the witch, not awarding any points to her for the efforts.

Another Ravenclaw spoke up soon after, and James nodded at the answer given. Obvious, but correct. "Schools and hospitals are amongst the more obvious places. Many people hold a stock of the potion at home, as well, especially when they have young children. Three points to Ravenclaw." James added, knowing that one first hand now he had a daughter to contend with.

As Elleon caught his attention, James squinted slightly to see what had been written, before nodding his understanding of the answer. "Yes, that's right too." James added, turning towards the board and drawing up the ingredients Elleon had given so that the rest of the students could see. "Elleon has supplied us with a few of the ingredients, there are more, but these are some of the more well known ones. Three points for Hufflepuff." James explained after he'd turned back to the class as a whole.

James turned back and added the remaining ingredients to the list.

"When you take your exams, you will need to know the full list to gain full credit. The more you know, the better. Commit the ingredients to memory." James insisted, before motioning them to the back of the room. "Please prepare me a Wiggenweld Potion in the remaining time, and hand it in for marking. If you need help, ask." James told them, before sending them off to complete the assignment.
