Primrose Seele's Test Empty
PostSubject: Primrose Seele's Test   Primrose Seele's Test EmptySat Jul 29, 2017 11:36 pm

As Primrose stepped in to the classroom, Jake stood from his desk, moving to the middle of the room and looking at the witch before him, he gave a small smile. "I'm glad to hear it, Miss Seele!" Jake told her, before motioning to the empty classroom. "Today, you will be working with me." He told her, trying to explain why they were all coming in to the classroom on their own.

"Your first challenge, Primrose, is to disarm me and place me in a Full Body Bind."

The words were quite clear, but Jake gave the witch a few moments to comprehend the situation before they began. With that done, Jake moved back to his desk and took up his wand, turning to the witch and motioning for her to make the first move. It was a test not of simply disarming, but of Primrose's capability to think on the spot. This was not simply a test of the disarming spell, or even the full body bind, but a test of persistence, and the ability to work in a small duel.

Important Information:
1. Whilst Jake is both a professor and Auror, he is obviously not going to make this impossible for his students to pass this stage. Jake will, however, push a student to work to their potential.

As I do not know ALL characters inside out, I am allowing you to GM Jake pushing the character to achieving as much as possible.

2. I will not accept a post that writes a successful take down in two moves. Unless you can come to me with a very good reason how your character can take down a talented Auror, then I will deem this unrealistic, and will not post part two of your test.

3. You are expected to write the duel yourself -- I will not be posting as Jake other than to give the next steps in this lesson.

4. Have fun with this, explore your character, and use this as an opportunity to explore their capabilities.

5. If you need a specific reaction/action/comment from Jake to push your character further, please ask me before you GM so that I can confirm as to whether this is something he would do.

6. If you have any questions, please ask!

Primrose Seele's Test Empty
PostSubject: Re: Primrose Seele's Test   Primrose Seele's Test EmptyThu Aug 03, 2017 9:55 pm

Stepping into the classroom, Prim had been quiet as she watched her Professor with a wry look in her eyes. The fact that this was going to be a one-on-one lesson with the Professor hadn't escaped Prim's notice, what she didn't really expect was that she would have to disarm and put Jake into a Full Body Bind.

Taking a deep breath, Prim's fingers curled around her wand before the fifth year witch steeled herself and focused on Jake. She knew Jake was an Auror, he hadn't hidden it, but she was also aware that there was no way in hell that he would be using his full power on her. He would have to take it easy otherwise Prim herself would've already been disarmed and stupefied on the floor.

Deciding to go the safer route, for now, Prim was quick to make a list of the spells that she knew and which ones she could use. Being a fifth year, she had quite the repertoire so she was going to use everything that she had learnt in her five years to try and disarm and body-bind Jake. It would be hard and it would certainly be something that would push her beyond her limits but Prim was ready for it.

"Expelliarmus! Stupefy! Filipendo!" Prim called the three spells, her wand pointed at Jake; unfortunately for the witch but quite expected, all three missed their target and Prim was forced to shield herself from the onslaught of Jake's spells. Two she had managed to dodge but the third one had hit her, making her lips twitch at the sensation of tickling though that was the only indication that the spell had even hit her.

Her mind worked overtime as she dodged Jake's spells and threw some of her own; clearly, she'd have to think of an effective strategy against her Professor before she could even think of disarming and body-binding him.

Biting her lower lip, Prim decided to just dive head in into the duel; she would try her best and hopefully, the witch would be able to disarm and body-bind her Professor.

"Rictusempra!" The woman cried out, the spell missing Jake by millimetres but that didn't deter Prim and instead, she carried on her assault. "Fumos!" The smoke-screen spell was like a double-edged sword in that Prim had just as much trouble aiming her spells as Jake did probably, not to mention the Auror would probably be able to get rid of the smoke quickly but Prim only needed those few scant seconds to, hopefully, finish her duel with the Professor. "Aqua Eructo! Glacius!" The two spells were aimed at the floor where the water got frozen over and even though she couldn't see if the spells had taken effect, Prim had been quick to throw her last two spells at the Professor just as the other male finally dispersed the smoke.

"Expelliarmus!" She didn't even bother watching whether the spell hit, the clatter of a wand landing on the floor was tell-tale enough. "Petrificus Totalus!" The body-bind curse landed just seconds later and, thankfully, it hit the Professor.

Despite the fact that she had won the duel, Prim wasn't free of the duel effects either; her left arm was slightly bruised from where she had fallen on it, her knee was aching big time from the number of times she dodged and her hand was trembling from the force of holding her wand.

She was pretty proud of herself even if she had fumbled a little bit at some parts.

Primrose Seele's Test Empty
PostSubject: Re: Primrose Seele's Test   Primrose Seele's Test EmptyTue Aug 08, 2017 10:55 am

Primrose had opted for the use of a barrage of different spells sent in Jake's direction which left him with the only option of defending himself against spell after spell. Jake knew, however, that this was a tactic that could not last in a student, their magical cores depleted much quicker than they realised.

But Prim kept it up and Jake retaliated with tickling spells in response. The with kept moving until finally the girl concealed herself and made the final move, 'catching' Jake with the Full Body Bind and then disarming him.

Waiting for the young witch to release him, Jake tidied up the classroom with a couple of flicks from his wand. "We'll done, Prim. You worked well there." Jake told the witch, collecting some chocolate from his desk and offering it to the witch. "You'll need it, for energy." He explained, readying the room for the next task.

"Your next challenge is going to be a little harder than the first. I'm sure you already worked that much out. So please, make sure you're ready before we continue, okay?" He insisted, before readying the next task for the young witch.

Flicking his wand around the room, a number of objects appeared behind Jake, some small, some large. Some heavy, some light. They wouldn't make much sense on their own, but Jake was going to explain before he set the Gryffindor off on this task.

"You will know by now the Seize and Pull Charm. Many students will think that defending themselves will mean direct combat, however, this is not always the case. What we are going to achieve with this one, is to work through the objects, smallest to largest - getting quicker. You will need to use the Seize and Pull Charm to pull the objects from the air. Sounds easy, I know, but, we're going to do this whilst you also contend with water jets.

"The aim is to not get hit by the water jets, but also not get hit by the objects flying in your direction too." Jake explained -- of course, he would not allow his students to actually get hurt, on impact, the objects would turn to feathers, but they looked like normal objects to the untrained eye.

"Ready?" Jake asked with a smile.

2. The items being launched are open to your discretion, but I'm thinking a textbook, moving up to a cauldron, then maybe a table -- however, how big the object is depends on how well your character manages, once you decide on them failing, Jake will not launch another object in their direction.

3. You are expected to write this part yourself -- I will not be posting as Jake other than to give the next steps in this lesson.

4. Have fun with this, explore your character, and use this as an opportunity to explore their capabilities.
