In need of some down time ( Mimosa)

Dominique decided that she was going to sneak into the Slytherin dorm. And it was because she wanted to spend time with her best friend, Mimosa. But she knew that the Slytherin dorm has a password. And Dominique didn’t know it. She knew that they wouldn't give out to every person. So seeing Mimosa was going to be a lot harder . She wasn’t even sure where the Slytherin dorm was. Right now she was just going to have to guess what it was at. All she knew that it was in the dungeon. And she knew the potions classroom was there. So maybe it was near there? So she might just go stand near the potions classroom. And she knew that Mimosa would love to see her. Dominique was starting to get into a rhythm. She knew that she would have trouble. But there was one class that she was going to have to prove herself. And that was because she was the only first year in that class. But she wasn’t going to let that get the best of her.

She just hoped that Dominique would find her. But really didn’t know how long she was going to stand there. Maybe she should have sent her a note first. It was something that she didn’t really put a lot of thought as this was something that was last minute.

The common room was loud today, the kind of loud Mimosa had no problem with because she could easily integrate herself into any group.

A month into the school year and she had found out that she could basically hang out with anyone she chose. For example, the group of third and fourth years having an epic exploding snap tournament in one corner would easily squeeze closer on the couch to make room for her tiny form, the group of first years to her right arguing over the best way to sneak into the Forbidden forest had blatantly left a seat open just in case Mimosa decided to join them and a group of giggling girls from various upper years inspecting Jacques' portrait on the wall and postulating on his current exploits and preferences would happily incorporate Mimosa into their conversion to get more information out of a first hand source.

Which was perhaps why Mimosa actually found herself in the unlikely company of Squid Boy who, instead of joining the First Years' discussion on how to sneak into the Forest, had probably already figured out a way and wasn't telling anyone. Mimosa had learned a number of things about Squid Boy in the month they'd been Slytherins together, and one of them was that he was smart. Not smart like Seema Biswas who told everyone how smart she was but smart like a real Slytherin.

And Mimosa was hoping if she hung around him enough, he would share some of his wisdom with her. After all, if he knew how to get into the Forest unseen or unsuspected, he would know who to get to other places too.

Like Gryffindor Tower.

Unfortunately, Squid Boy was busy staring at diagrams of different sea creatures, trying to identify what lived in the Lake of Hogwarts. The alleged Giant Squid had not been spotted but instead of disappointment, the young wizard had simply plodded on, refusing to give up hope. Mimosa watched him work for another fifteen minutes, barely acknowledging any of her comments as he flipped pages, irritating the young witch who was not used to being ignored in favor of a book.

Giving up, the American brunette rose from her seat, made a face at Squid Boy's direction and headed towards the patch of wall that acted as a doorway. She didn't need a stupid boy to find her way to her best friend, she could do it all on her on. Exiting the common room, the child landed safely into the dungeon hallway, heading towards the stars that would take her up.

Only to run into Dia at the landing.

"Dia!!!" the child squealed, running to hug her fellow American. "What are you doing here? Please say you're here to see me and not to go some stupid class!"

Dominque was about ready to give up and just go back to the Gryffindor towers. She should have sent Mimosa an owl. But she really did this all last minute. And she really didn’t know where the Slytherin dorms were. But her mom did tell her they were in the dungeon. And the only place that Dominique knew was the potions classroom. So she was just going to stay outside and hoped that Mimosa would come out.

She was so excited that finally Mimosa came out. That means that she wouldn’t have to stand outside looking like an idiot. Now she could finally spend time with her friend. She then smiled as she hugged her fellow American. “ Mim!!!”  She then listened as Mim asked her if she was here to see her or go to a potion class. Which the answer wasn’t going to be that hard. “ I am here to see you silly.” Plus they were both in the same potion class. So that would be weird for Dominique to be going to a class without Mim. “ So now that we can spend time together, what would you like to do?”

When Dia confirmed that she was indeed here to see Mimosa, the child model let out another squeal and hugged Dia tight. Now they were in business. This would be just like old times, the two friends hanging out together undisturbed by an annoying crowd. But first, they ahd to make it out the front doors without being noticed, which was always difficult in Mimosa's case. She did have an idea though.

"Let's go out to the Quidditch pitch, but first, I'll need your help," the ten year old explained, turning to Dia with earnest blue eyes. "Could you please change scarves and hoodies with me?" she asked, gesturing to Dia's bright red and gold accessories. Beneath those, the black robes the witches wore were almost identical.

"If I walk up into the Great Hall, someone will see me and stop me and we'll never make it out, but if I'm wearing a Gryffindor hoodie, no one will look at me twice. Please Dia, I just want to get out of the castle." She hoped her friend could hear the desperation in her voice. and while Mimosa may not have been as smart of Seema or Squid Boy, she too could form a plan. One that might actually work.

"You can have my Slytherin scarf and wrap it all around you, no one will notice you're a Gryffindor if you hide the badge on your robe."

Dominique was going to spend her time with her best friend, Mimosa. She knew that others might find there squealing and hugging annoying. But she really didn’t care what others thought. She was just really excited that she was spending time with Mim. Which she had no idea what they were going to do. But whatever it was, it would be really fun. Dominique need to get caught up with her Slytherin friend. And see how it was for her. As she was starting to get the hang of classes. Even though in Global Citizenship she was the only first year. So that really made her nervous.

“ The Quiddich Pitch sounds like it would be fun.”  She loved watching the matches with her mother. She then heard Mim say that she would need her help. Of course she would help Mimosa out. She would do anything for her. She asked if she would give Mim her scarf and hoodie. Which she didn’t think that it would be a problem. “ Sure I don’t see why not.” That is when she started to take off her scarf and her hoodie. With that off both of the girls looked the same.

She then listened as Mim said that someone would see her and stop her. Meaning both of the girls would never get outside. “ You know I would do anything to help you Mim.” She then handed the girl her Gryffindor things. Mimosa was a popular girl at Hogwarts and she was just a first year. So she would do anything to try and help her out.

“ This is my chance to be a Slytherin for a small amount of time.” She then smiled as they both had a fool proof plan. “ Seems like we are going to pretend to be each other.” Dia couldn’t help but laugh.

A bright, happy grin blossomed across the younger witch's face as Dia agreed to the plan, quickly shedding her scarf and jacket in favor of Mimosa's own cashmere green scarf that Grandmere had sent her. Quickly donning the red and gold apparel, Mimosa pulled the hood of the jacket all the way up, hiding her hair and face as best she could before wrapping the Gryffindor's scarf around her neck. It may have been too much for the season but a at least now she looked less like herself.

Arm in arm, the two girls made their way up the stairs and into the Great Hall where Mimosa immediately recognized at least half a dozen people who would have stopped her. Bushrah seemed to be lurking around the Slytherin table too, probably waiting for Mimosa to show up. Glad of her temporary invisibility thanks to Dia's accessories, Mimosa steered the other witch tot he door and soon enough, they were out in the fresh air, no questions asked.

"We did it!" the ten year old squealed, finally throwing back the hood of her jacket and loosening the scarf around her throat. "I can't believe we're out! I missed going out. Come on, let's head to the pitch, I heard the teams are practicing today."

Dominique was going with Mimosa plan. She had already taken off her hoodie and scarf and handing them to Mim. She then took Mimosa green Slytherin scarf. She then watched as Mimosa was putting on her Gryffindor hoodie and scarf. Dominique just hoped that this plan worked out. Because she knew that Mimosa really wanted to get outside. And she knew that she was popular. She then smiled as she looked at Mim who could now be in the Gryffindor house.

Both girls hand their arms linked as they both were heading to the Great Hall. It seemed first Mim was going to have to get passed the Slytherins. And hopeful that it would fool them since Mim was wearing her things. Dominique was holding her breath because she knew that this could ruin her plan. But thank goodness both girls had brown hair. So it would be hard to tell who was who. Let’s just hope that nobody would actually come up to see. Because that would be a failed plan. And there would be no going outside. And Dominique wouldn’t get to spend time with Mim.

“ Yay we did it!.” She couldn’t help but celebrate with her friend. Because their plan worked. “ I can’t believe it worked and you look good as a Gryffindor.” Dominique was glad that she could get her friend out of the castle. “ Going to the pitch then. Maybe we will get to see Mercy in practice.”

"Of course I look good," Mimosa grinned cheekily, striking a pose she had learned on one of her of modelling shoots. Bursting into giggles afterwords, she took Dia's hand once again. "And you make a very cute Slytherin," she complemented the older brunette as she skipped off towards the Quidditch Pitch. In Mimosa's opinion, wearing House colors was silly when a lot of people looked good in many different colors. She should petition to have House colors either removed or opened to the entire school. It only made sense.

Though Dia was hoping to see Mercy practice, Mimosa knew it was the Slytherin team who was out tonight, making up the one group missing from her Common Room earlier. As they neared the stands, it became obvious with the Captain calling out formations.

"I think... They're holding tryouts," Mimosa pointed out uncertainty as they found a place on the bleachers, watching the green clad specs fly back and forth. "I wonder why there was no announcement... I would have tried out if I had known," the young witch confessed, her small brow furrowed in confusion.

"Do you want to play Quidditch some day, Dia?"

Dominique knew that her friend would look good in anything. She knew that Mim was a model. And knew that her grandpa was a photographer. That was something that her mother told her. But she couldn’t help but start giggling. “ You will always look good Mim.” She then grined when she was told that she would make a cute Slytherin. “ Thank you!” Now both of the girls were going to the Quidditch Pitch. She was going to wear Mim Slytherin scarf for a while. As she knew that Mim would be enjoying her Gryffindor colors.

She was hoping to see Mercy practice. But she really didn’t know who was going to be on the pitch. But no matter who it was, she was still going to enjoy her time with Mim. As she knew that this wasn’t going to happen a lot. But there was always hope. Dominique noticed that it was the Slytherins that had the pitch.

“ Tryouts would be fun.” She knew that she had thought about it. Because she really wasn’t sure about it. It was always nice to watch anything that was Quidditch. She then listened as Mim said that she would have tryout if she known about it. “ Is there a way that you can still get on the team?” She was hoping that they would give Mim at least a shot at playing.

She then was asked if she would want to play Quidditch one day. “ I mean I guess. I have thought about it.” But that was as far as she had gotten. As she wasn’t sure about it yet

When Dia asked if there was a way for Mimosa to still make the team, the younger witch was confident in her reply."I'm sure there is. They wouldn't say no to me." It was Mimosa's lifelong belief that no one would say no to her no matter what the rules, a belief that had only been challenged a few scant times over her short life and so remained firmly in place. "I like Beaters," she continued, watching the brooms flit across the field. None of them looked anywhere near as fast as her own. "I think I'd like to play as one of those."

Of curse it hand't occurred to her that she was a tiny slip of a kid who wouldn't even be able to lift a conventional Beaters bat let alone swing it. In her mind, she would be an amazing Beater, probably the best the Slytherin team ever had. "You know, my Jacques gave me a Firebolt Flash for my birthday, it even has my initials on it in pink. It goes so fast, its like fasten than I can think," she explained to the Gryffindor as they watched. Eventually, one of the team members flew out of the huddle and landed, Mimosa didn't make much of it until the burly looking fifth year strode purposefully towards the girls.

"Oh, I think he wants to talk to us," Mimosa proclaimed brightly before waving to the angry looking boy. "Hello, would you like to join us?"

Instead of a reply, the boy merely shouted "Get out of here you midget spies! This is a Slytherin team practice."
