In need of some down time ( Mimosa)

Dominique listened as Mim asked her if she wanted to play Quidditch one day. It was something she had thought about. But she was sure that she wasn’t that good. Mim said that she would have tried out if she had known about it. “ Well you can always try and hope that they would say yes.” Dia hoped that her friend would make the team. Because she knew that she would have to cheer for her at the games. But it would be hard when the Gryffindor vs Slytherin. That would be one that she wouldn’t know who to cheer for. But she listened as Mim said that she like the beaters. “ Mim you are small to be a beater. Wouldn’t chaser or seeker be better?”

She knew that Mim was dreaming big. Which was good and all, but she knew that her friend couldn’t even swing the bat. Maybe she would change her mind about what position she wanted to play. But she then listened as Mim told her that Jacques got her a Firebolt Flash. “ Wow that does sound amazing. I haven’t even gotten my first broom yet. But mom told me that flying was in my blood. So it should be soon. Dominique then watched as there was a Slytherin boy coming their way. Which she wasn’t worried about anything. Because she wasn’t doing anything that wouldn’t get them in trouble.

Which she thought the Slytherin was rude, calling them midget spies. But she then remembered that Mim was still wearing her Gryffindor colors. But all they wanted to do was watch some Quidditch. Maybe Mim could put this mean Slytherin in his place.

Mimosa was just about to dispel Dia's concerns regarding Beatership when the boy yelled at them, making the young Slytherin frown. Why did people ever yell? It was so rude and unseemly. No one ever yelled at her. Surely this boy must know that.

"We aren't spies," the child pouted, opening her jacket to reveal the Slytherin crest on her robe while making sure Dia's green scarf hid her own Gryffindor badge. "I'm Mimosa Clement, this is my friend. We were spying on the Gryffindor team for you guys." The lie had struck her just now but the child didn't hesitate in putting it to good use.

The boy stared at her, his eyes almost popping out before his face relaxed into... not quite a smile but he looked less angry anyway. Making his way to the girls, he nodded a silent apology. Whether it was the Slytherin, the Spying or the Clement that had changed his mood, Mimosa didn't care. At least he wasn't yelling anymore.

The young brunette eyed Dia cautiously, morning for her to play along as the man sat opposite them, regarding them with equal parts curiosity and mistrust. "Go on then, what are those bastards up to this year? Pumping themselves full of potions because they can't get a decent broom to save their life?"

Playing along, Mimosa shook her head, her shining brown hair swinging from side to side with the motion. "No, they look good actually. They've got a new second year, Mercy Williams. She looks really talented. We might be in trouble."

All the talk about Quidditch was getting her excited. But she really wasn’t all that sure about playing. She knew that Mim was excited too. And she knew that her friend would play. And she would be there to support her. It seemed like they made a Slytherin mad as he was saying they were midget spies. Dominique knew that she was sure, but wasn’t a midget. She was actually taller than one. She then listened as her friend had lied. Wasn’t sure how she felt about that one. She really hated it when people would start yelling. And it didn’t help that she was caught up with this Slytherin boy yelling at them.

Dominique didn’t know what Mim did. But at least this boy wasn’t yelling at them anymore. She could say that she was feeling a little Slytherin. Which was actually in her blood also. And if she had to she would use that. She knew that her father was on his house team. But that was if she really needs to get out of a pickle. She then looked at Mim, who was telling her to go along with it. Right now she was going to try and get the both of them out. She hated that she had to talk bad about her house. But if it was going to help get them out of trouble. Then she had no choice.

She then smiled as they had to believe it. “ Mercy has the raw talent. Looks very promising, but that isn’t even the best.” Dominique hope that this was helping them. “ I heard that Jake Newbury is now the head of Gryffindor, and he plans to coach the team himself." Now she was just going to let that sink in. Only Mim would get them in trouble.

Mimosa's light blue eyes twinkled with mischief and delight at Dia having caught on and added the bit about... Well she wasn't sure what Dia had said but it convinced the boy that they were aiding the Slytherin team. In truth, Mimosa hadn't revealed any information the tam wouldn't have gotten just by having eyes and ears, it s simply her style of delivery that she had used to endear herself and Dia to the team.

Perhaps she would make a good Slytherin yet.

"Fuck," the older student swore, thankfully Mimosa was too caught up in her own brilliance to notice the expletive. "Wish we had someone coaching us. We definitely have better equipment but if they're bringing in International players."

That made the child look up, assessing the team's formation up front. "I don't know, you guys don't look bad. Form could be better but teamwork might sort that out." The little brunette had often heard Uncle Seb use such sentences and she had rather come to realize they probably applied in all Quidditch related situations. No one had told her otherwise, of course.

In turn, the fifth year merely scoffed at her. "What would you midgets know about formation?"

"My uncles coaches the Wagtown Wanderers," Mimosa replied primly. "And Dia here has Quidditch in her blood. We won't even bother telling you who she's related to. Just think of the most famous Quidditch personality you know and you'll work it out." The younger witch could only hope Dia would take the hint and play along.

Dominique wasn’t really sure what Mim was doing. But she was going along with it just so that they both could stay out of trouble. She has seen that whatever they was doing was working. She just hoped that they wasn’t digging themselves in a deep hole. Dia was just going to trust her best friend. As she seems to know what she was doing. And she was the Slytherin. But Dia had Slytherin blood in her. That was something that she was going to keep to herself. As she knew that these boys didn’t need to know this. She knew that Mim would be a great Slytherin.

It seemed like they took the bait. Now she was just going to watch about how this was going to play out. As Dominique could tell that these boys were now worried. But it seemed like they were going to have her fun. For some reason she was actually enjoying this. Watching as how they were all worried now. But she was the one who went with whatever Mim was saying. Dia knew that right now Mim could get herself on the team. And she wouldn’t have any problem. She then smiled as she was listening to Mim speak. It was looking like Mim could sell ice to an Eskimo.

Dia knew that Mim had uncles who coaches a professional team. So that was something to be the actual truth. In truth, she didn’t have a professional player in her blood. But her father was on his house team. But she was going to have to go with it. Dominqiue then looked at the whole Slytherin team. “ If you don’t know my father than shame on you.” She wasn’t actually lying but just misleading them.

Dominique was just watching as this was all unfolding. What she was doing wasn’t lying, but she was misleading. She was going along with Mim. It seemed like the Slytherin guys were taking their bait. They were then asking if Mim’s uncles would give pointers to the team. Dia knew what Mim was going to say. She knew that Mim could be a snake charmer. As everybody was eating out of the palm of her hands. If she keeps it up, she would be on the Slytherin team.

She really liked Mim answer. “ I think that it would be best if you just let her on the team.” Dominique wanted Mim to have the best chance. Mim was trying to get her on the Slytherin team. Even though she is actually a Gryffindor. But they didn’t know this so she was just going to have to go along with it. Dominique then watched as they said they couldn’t take on two firstie. “ Her uncle coaches a PROFESSIONAL team. You would be nuts to just pass on taking both of us.” But it seems like it was just going to be one of them.

Dominque then had to think about this. But she knew that it was a no brainer. As she wasn’t actually a Slytherin. “ Mim that does sound like it could work. But wouldn’t it make sense to give you a spot on the team. Since your uncles can help give them pointers and maybe they could win. As the Gryffindor team is having Jake Newbury helping them. I mean I can see Gryffindor being the champions this year.” But she smiled as she gave these Slytherins something to think about.

Dia's brilliantly executed not-a-threat made Mimosa want to throw her arms around the older witch but she contained herself. In one smooth move, Dia had extracted herself from the situation so no one ever need find out she wasn't a Slytherin and pretty much handed Mimosa the spot.

"Fine, she can practice with us," the fifth year admitted grudgingly. "But not so fast. You'll confirm when your uncle is coming, and it needs to be before the first match of the season. Hopefully seeing a celebrity on our side will have them scared so stiff they won't be able to mount their brooms."

"Done," Mimosa replied confidently. Writing to Uncle Seb was no big deal, she could do it later tonight. "When do i start."

"Hold on there Skippy," the muscled boy spoke again. "We don't evne know if you can play. Being a Clement doesn't make you good at Quidditch. Hard work and practice does. We'll get one of our new recruits to suss you out. You'll practice with him and he'll see if you're any good."

"Fine," Mimosa agreed grudgingly, deciding she had pushed her luck enough for today. "And we'll even do you guys a solid. Dia here has Gryffindor connections on the inside. So if you ever see her going around in a Gryffindor uniform, she's just spying for us." This should take care of Dia if a Slytherin team member ever saw her in her red and gold finery.

"And I want permission for her to come watch our practices whenever she wants. Even if she's not on the team."

Dominique knew that she was helping Mim out. She hoped that Mim like her demand. And they wouldn’t have to find out that she wasn’t a Slytherin. But she was glad that she had put these Slytherin boys in their spots. As she knew that she could be an actual Slytherin. But she wasn’t about ready to say that out loud. But she was excited that Mim could practice with them. It seemed like she would have to make sure that her uncles were coming. Which she knew that they would be there. She then rolled her eyes when she thought that the Gryffindor would be too scared.

But she grinned when Mim said that this would be no problem. And she was proud that she was able to help her get on the team. Well she had to put up a good threat. Now they were questioning if Mim could play and was good. “ Mim is a great player as I know that her uncles have been training her.” She wasn’t sure about these Slytherin guys. But she wasn’t about ready to say that one out loud.

Mim was only helping her out. Because she would know that these Slytherins would think that she was lying. “ I am what you call a double agent.” As she knew that she was a Gryffindor at heart. But she needs to keep up the fact that she wasn’t a Gryffindor to these Slytherins. She then listened as Mim was making demands. Which she wasn’t going to say anything. “ I think I would like to come watch.” Dia was going to push it. “ I mean my father is a famous quidditch player.”

"Fine fine," the boy nodded exasperatedly, apparently no longer able to negotiate in the face of two very determined first years. "Your friend can watch and I'll let the others know she's snitching for us. But if the Gryffindors find out, this never happened. If she's a good enough Slytherin, she'll fit in among those idiots easily."

"You have no idea, they practically think she's one of them," Mimosa confirmed, trying her best to keep a straight face. It would not to do start giggling now and ruining their whole plan. The two sat and discussed more details for a bit, such as who would be in charge of Mimosa's personal training and when she could start. Then the two girls stood up and excused themselves.

Away from the bleachers and out towards the shores of the Black Lake, Mimosa could no longer put up the act, dissolving into giggles as she sank into the soft grass. "Can you believe what we just did?" she asked amidst giggles as she tried to sit properly, her head thrown back in laughter.

The thrill of the whole experience was making her weak, and she couldn't stop laughing.
