Walking the dog (Dimitri Moreau) - Page 2 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Walking the dog (Dimitri Moreau)   Walking the dog (Dimitri Moreau) - Page 2 EmptySun Apr 08, 2018 3:23 pm

All she could do was nod. Even though she was not like most Slytherins, she always had to remember there were still people out there that understood her habit of talking to Axel. He was her baby whether she was judged or not, nothing would change that for the world.

She realized she was a little straight forward when it came to their new found friendship. Sometimes her mouth didn't agree with her head and she literally said that out of kindness and hope that they'll be good friends one day. She definitely knew she didn't see him as anything more then that though. From the way his eyes glowed just talking about his 'friend' she knew that even if she liked him like that, she stood no chance. She smiled when he agreed.

"Yeah, they're twins and can be demons, but they're 10, they'll be coming to Hogwarts next year since their birthday is in November and that's after school starts. But kind of glad I get one more year before they pull pranks on me at school to and not just home" she sighed, she loved them, but they were annoying from time to time.

When he offered her to hang with him and his friends she smiled. "That would be great, thank you."

"Twins, ouch." Dimitri commented, not taking too kindly to such a thought. One child would be more than enough, he believed, at any given time. Though, of course, with his own family, one child would not be enough. The expectations would be of at least two, 'just in case', but the idea of twins... No, he didn't think he would like to have twins. Not, of course, that he would be the one looking after the children, men in his world simply did not do such things.

"And they're pranksters? Merlin your house must be a right to do!" Dimitri joked softly. The idea of children acting badly might have been a shock a number of years ago, but Dimitri had learned through his friends that not everyone was brought up exactly how he was. It would, probably, be quite refreshing to experience such things, but for now, that was not something Dimitri wanted to entertain.

"No problem," Dimitri replied to the witch as they reached Honeydukes. "Do you want to wait here? I'll only be a couple of minutes... Oh! And do you want anything?" He added, motioning to the shop because it would be rude not to offer.

She nodded, she loved that she was going to be a big sister but right now, they were at the stage where they annoyed her when she was home, pranking her, messing around with her stuff. It was getting old and when she complained to her parents about what they were doing to her, her parents would constantly say it's a 'phase'. When it really wasn't. "Yeah I know, one brother and one sister, yay me" she sarcastically replied. She loved them but they had to grow up.

She nodded and sighed. "Yes I know, they love to torture me a lot. I came home once with bologna in my room all over my floor, I was grossed out" she cringed at the memory.

When they got to the shop she knew she was going to have to wait with Axel being with her. "Yes I shall wait here and no thank you, it's sweet of you though" she appreciated the offer but she tries not to eat a lot of sweets, although when she did, it was so good.

The idea of heading home to find bologna on the floor was one that Dimitri couldn't fathom. Who would let their children do such things? Why were Elena's parents not taking more responsibility with these children? And, why, in Merlin's name, had they been able to get their hands on the bologna in the first place in order to be able to create such a mess?

Dimitri did not have the answer to these questions, and decided not to question a stranger's family on how they brought up their children, after all, this was not something Dimitri completely understood. But, it did seem... weird.

"That sounds... not very nice." Dimitri commented awkwardly, quite glad that they'd made it to the shop then so that he could duck out of this conversation politely.

When Elena politely declined his offer, Dimitri nodded is understanding before moving in to the shop. Where most people would have perused the shop, the Moreau heir moved to the counter, denoting his wants -- Nerisei's favourite sweets, with a small assortment of other sweets, too, in a hamper, with a voucher for the shop to be made up too. The shopkeeper had taken careful note of each of the requirements, and then the details of the recipient before confirming that it should go on Dimitri's account.

As an after thought, Dimitri collected a bag of exploding bon bons for himself, before exiting the shop to find Elena still there with Axel. Not that he'd expected her to leave, of course.

"So, which way are you heading?" Dimitri asked, not wanting to just head off in one direction if Elena was heading in another. That would be rude!

She watched his face when she explained what her younger siblings did to her. She absolutely could honestly say she loved and hated them at the same time. They were going to be coming to Hogwarts soon and she honestly was hoping that they never seen her or were in the same house as her. Dealing with them at home was one thing but at school, no.

"Yeah, they're a little insane, sometimes I wonder how we're related and all that." When they hit the crazy age of five, they did nothing but prank and play too loudly. She was never that bad growing up, she was calm. When he went into the sweet shop she got down on her knees and pet Axel. "What would mommy ever do without you?" Axel let out a bark and Elena laughed.

Dimitri returned and she stood back up. He asked which way she wanted to go. "Anywhere honestly. You pick."

At the admittance they could go anyway he wanted, Dimitri couldn't help but be a little bit disappointed. He -- rather oddly for a man of his upbringing -- had come to enjoy the mindfulness of women outside of Pureblood circles. The way they knew what they wanted and grabbed the world with both hands.

He didn't want such things in his future wife, of course not, but in friends, it didn't hurt.

"Let's go this way," Dimitri prompted, knowing there was a vast open space in which Axel could be let off -- if Elena allowed him to -- and he could play. Dimitri wouldn't be able to stay too long, but he figured that, perhaps, they could spend a little bit more time together before he apparated home.

"So, you're in what year at school?" Dimitri asked politely, he didn't really know what to talk to the witch about, and she was offering very little in the way of her own questions. "What's your favourite class? Least favourite?"

She saw that he seemed a little disappointed at her answer but she shook it off. She didn't really know what to say in this kind of matter, she wasn't used to other people actually really talking to her without bossing her around, she was used to being a puppet in a way. She was hardly brave to stand up or speak for herself. She nodded when he suggested where to go.

When he asked about her favorite and least class and was year she was in, of course she answered. "Well I'm a fourth year, and as for my favorite and least class... hmmm" she thought about it before she found her answer. "Well my favorite is Defense against the dark arts and my least, if I had to choose anyone I would have to choose Muggle studies. I mean it doesn't bother me but my mom is a human so I can pretty much pin point most of the stuff we learn in class. What about you?"

"Your mother is a human?" Dimitri asked, letting out a soft chuckle. "I'll assume you mean Muggle, because that makes much more sense." He finalised, smiling at the slip of the tongue. He wasn't being mean, and his tone showed her that much because it was so light in that moment.

"I suppose that class would come quite easily for you though, yes. I did find it enlightening when I took the subject up to fifth year, but I grew bored with it, in truth and dropped it for my O.W.L. year." Dimitri explained, showing that he didn't have much of a care for it either.

"My favourite class is Charms, it's something that I've had a natural affinity towards most of my life. My least favourite, ironically, is Potions. I've never enjoyed it..." Dimitri explained, though he trailed off as he thought back to the lessons he'd been having with Nerisei that made them that bit more enjoyable than before. Elena, though, did not need to know about that.

At that point they'd reached the expanse of grass on which Elena could let Axel go, run off around the area whilst they waited for him. Dimitri looked sideways to Elena to see if she was going to do such things, but also waited for her to continue the conversation if she wanted to.

She felt embarrassed a little but laughed it off. "Yes, sorry my mother hates being called a Muggle, she prefers human, but yes she is a Muggle" Elena explained, if her mother heard her father's friends call her a Muggle she got mad and always said words that an adult uses.

She nodded in understanding, Muggle studies wasn't for everyone, hell it wasn't even for her sometimes, she always tried to avoid it like the plague but when she did decide to take it up, it was interesting for her.

Elena listened and nodded. "Thats my second favorite, Charms, very interesting to learn and know more and it also is something like DADA, but it's not as dangerous as DADA, since sometimes the class could and can get physical."

They got to a field of grass and Axel looked up at her and she giggled a little. She reached down unhooked his leash and he ran happily through the grass and even started to roll around. "He's such a baby sometimes" she laughed at her dog.

"So what do you want to be when your older? If it's too much a personal question you don't have to answer."

Why Elena's mother preferred human over Muggle, Dimitri couldn't have been sure. It sounded weird, 'human', but he decided not to question it further. It seemed Elena's family was quite... unusual, in more than one manner of the word.

"I would disagree, I think Charms is just as dangerous as DADA. I mean, most of the work we do in Charms comes in to DADA at some point. The Charms professor just doesn't throw us in to something more... chaotic, like Professor Newbury -- Jake -- does." Dimitri offered in response. He was a little defensive of his favourite subject, to be honest, but he supposed that these things happened when you were passionate about things.

As Axel ran off out in to the grass, Dimitri watched with a fond smile on his lips. Dogs really were quite something, and he put it as a mental note to speak to his mother about it when he got home that evening.

"What do I want to be when I'm older?" Dimitri asked, letting out a soft laugh and shaking his head. People from outside the Pureblood world really did know how to amuse him. "I don't get a choice in that one, as heir to the Moreau family I will take on the family's business -- potions business." He explained patiently. He didn't like it, but that wasn't something that was going to change his future.

"And you, what do you plan to do?"
