Care of Magical Creatures - Lesson Two (All Years)

Time seemed to fly quite fast around this place, and the Greek wizard had found himself wondering how had three months passed so quickly. The Christmas Holidays were just around the corner, and all of the students were ecstatic at the idea of going home, to their families, in order to celebrate and open gifts. Which... equaled with them not truly caring for most of the subjects, during this time of the year. Odysseas knew that he was one of those students too, once, and understood how hard it was for them to stay focused for a little while longer, before they went on their break. Therefore, the Care of Magical Creatures Professor had decided on having a fun lesson today, hoping that his students would appreciate it.

Last time, a fair amount of students had attended his class, and the man had to admit that the feedback was quite positive. Whether it was because of him, or because of the little Crups he had brought along, Odysseas wasn't sure, but he still hoped that this lesson would be no different. Scanning the Grounds that were covered with heavy snow, Odysseas waited for the arrival of his students. The little Bowtruckle that was sitting on his shoulder was playing with his hair, whispering of how unkept it looked. "You know it's the snow, Noah. Stop whining." Odysseas whispered back, earning a small poke from the Bowtruckle.

Chuckling softly, the man looked away from the little creature and back towards the Grounds. Someone should be arriving any second now...

Dominique was excited about that break was almost here, as she was going home. But she would have to focus on her classes. She really loved Care of Magical Creatures but she hated that she had to go outside in the cold. So she made sure that she all nice and warm. But as soon as she stepped outside, she could feel the cold on her cheeks. But it was something that she was going to have to live with. Dominique was hoping that Elena would be there. Maybe she would get to see Sasha. Which she didn’t get to spend a lot of time with her since she was busy with her duties being head girl. As she was thinking about the class, she realized that she was already there.

And it would seem that she was a little early. It didn’t bother her that she wasn’t the first one to the class. As long as she got there on time, then everything was fine. “ Good morning professor.” Dominique smiled as she was waiting for everyone else to start showing up.

She was glad to be back at school, not being able to go home was killing her but she would get used to it when time goes by, but right now it's still too fresh for her and painful. Elena wasn't exactly rushing to class to be honest, she loved school but she knew she still had a little bit of time to get there before class starts. She hoped Dia was there, the only person that understood she didn't want to be bothered by the death of her parents was Dia.

When she got there she saw the young girl who was getting too big then she was willing to admit. Dia was turning into a young woman and she was so happy and proud of Dia. When she got to where the other two students were she gave a small nod to the professor and waited for class to begin.

Even though the snow was falling heavily around them, to Odysseas' surprise, students began to arrive one right after the other. First, it was Miss Clement, with whom the older wizard had been spending quite some time, in order to attend to the little Mooncalf he had found. He had, of course, allowed the young witch to name the little one, in a way of appreciation for the help she was offering. After all, who wanted to spend their evenings attending to the needs of a small creature? It was quite rare to find someone who shared the same passion Miss Clement was showing.

Odysseas nodded politely at her, giving her a smile, before turning his attention back to the little Bowtruckle, who was poking him and smiling at the brunette. The man raised an eyebrow at the small creature, finding it quite amusing that yet another creature was showing such interest towards Miss Clement. Perhaps they were seeing something he didn't, but this was certainly not the time to think about it.

More students arrived, and Odysseas greeted each and everyone of them with a small smile. Familiar faces were now surrounding him, and after making sure no one else was coming down, Odysseas cleared his throat and started speaking. "Welcome back to Care of Magical Creatures! I am sure most of you would prefer to be somewhere else, believe me, I'd love to be somewhere warm right now as well, but unfortunately, some things need to be done." The man said with a small chuckle.

"Today, I have yet another friend with me." Odysseas said and extended his arm, palm facing up, to allow the little Bowtruckle to walk down his arm and stand in the middle of his hand. "This is Noah. Does anyone have an idea what he is?"

Elena thought the creature on the shoulder of the Professor was pretty neat. It was something her father used to own but it got stolen and her father had been pretty upset since it was something that was precious to him. The class began to pile in and she was glad for the lesson to start. For her mind to be focused on class was a good thing. When the Professor asked what was on his shoulder, Elena raised her hand.

"It's a Bowtruckle, they have very sharp hands which a lot of people consider dangerous since they could stab them" Elena lowered her hand. Her brother had always been afraid of them since one poked his finger. Sometimes Elena thought they were harmless but everyone had their own experiences with Bowtruckles so it was definitely understandable if someone told her that they were harmful and all that stuff.
