Divination Lesson Two (All Years) Empty
PostSubject: Divination Lesson Two (All Years)   Divination Lesson Two (All Years) EmptySat Oct 03, 2015 2:54 pm

Jonathan was in a good mood as he had joined the teaching staff a little late in the year, but that didn't phase him one bit. He was actually very excited to be able to teach the students Divination. From what he had heard, there wasn't a teacher for a long time, so he had no idea if anyone would have liked to learn the subject now.

Sitting at his desk he waited for the students to make the long journey up the stairs to his classroom. As they started to file in he greeted them with a Good Afternoon and pulled a tea kettle from nowhere and had a tea cup on every desk, eager to start this years term off on the right foot for him. He started going around pouring the steamy liquid into the cups before the lesson began so he would have a good head start.

As Sebastian was still not sure on what he wanted to do when he left school, he had left his options open. Though school wasn't something he was overly concentrating on at the moment, a certain Slytherin occupied the Ravenclaw's mind. A certain Slytherin and the fact Sebastian was quite sure he was barking up the wrong tree.

Frustrated with his lack of competence of keeping his mind on the task, Sebastian pushed the door to Divination open. Giving the professor a soft 'hello' before moving to a seat at the back of the room. Whilst he knew Divination had some merit, he wasn't completely sure on the topic, truth be told. Therefore, it was probably best he stayed out of the professor's way so that he didn't get called on too much in the upcoming lesson.

Which, if Sebastian could guess correctly, was on reading tea leaves.

Finley wasn't overly sure on where he stood with Divination. His best friend was a Seer, which meant he had some understanding of visions and the like. The fact that Naomi's visions often came true was both awe inspiring and terrifying. He didn't know how he would deal with the situation of Naomi seeing something about him happening, but thankfully, she hadn't seen anything yet.

But, nobody knew about Naomi's gift, apart from Professor Newbury and himself - as far as Finley knew, anyway.

Slipping in to the classroom behind his best friend, Finley took up one of the seats at the front of class. The tea gave them a clear indication of what they would be doing today, and Finley looked sideways at his best friend, raising an eyebrow in question. His life was boring, so he didn't know what they were going to see that was of any use, but he would give it a try.

Divition was lesson what Chanelle isn't sure if she really has ever learned it. When there was now teacher then she decided to take that lesson. She just wanted to see what kind of things she can learn there. She liked to learn different subjects and also about magic new things.

So that was reason why she walked towards the Divitation classroom. When she reached there and walked into classroom she saw there already professor and few students. "Hello," she said to everyone in the classroom and did take a seat middle of classroom like she is used to already

She saw a cup with somekind of tea liquid in it. It was probably from ptofessor. She looked at it and wondered if she should taste it or not. She didn't touch the cup right now. She just couldn't do it since she wasn't sure for what that cup was even put on table. She didn't really wanna be the oje to ask ot. She ďecided just to wait until lessons begans.

Naomi led the way up the ladder into the Divination classroom. The class always made her slightly nervous and slightly excited. Nervous because she had an actual gift that no one knew about, but excited because she might learn more about using her gift and how to control and strengthen it.

When the pair of Ravenclaws made it into the classroom, Naomi took a moment to study the new professor. He seemed excited, eager to teach the class. That was good; it made no sense to have an apathetic professor, especially for a subject subjected to a lot of skepticism, like Divination.

Nodding and murmuring a greeting to the professor, Naomi sat beside Finley in the front row, studying her cup of tea. She wasn't really sure how her gift worked with the more structured practices of Divination, since her visions usually came of their own volition, although she could occasionally See if she tried. It would be interesting to see how she did in reading tea leaves.

Jonathan was pleased with the turn-out for his first lesson, yes. He knew it wasn't a popular subject, but who knew maybe it would be better next time. He greeted the students as they came in. "well if anyone else comes by, they are more than welcome to join us." he started watching the clock mark the time to begin. He stood up and looked at the small group of four he had in his classroom.

"If you didn't know already, we are going to start this lesson off by reading tea leaves, so if you would kindly drink the tea don't be afraid to talk to each other, and compare with others around you." He said, "Feel free to ask me any questions you might have about anything." He sat back down once more and watched for any hands that might raise for a question as he sipped on his own tea.

Finley listened to the professor's explanation of what they'd be doing. Finley didn't like tea, it wasn't to his taste, so the idea of drinking the tea sounded like one of the most awful things they would have to do. Pulling a little bit of a face, Finley lifted the cup and took a large mouthful, swallowing it quickly and then grimacing.

Yes, he could confirm, he didn't like the taste of tea.

Doing it once more, Finley drained the cup. Wiping his lips, the Ravenclaw set the cup down on the saucer and looked in to it. Blankly. All the tea leaves looked like was a disgusting mess in the bottom of the cup. Looking over to Naomi, Finley raised a questioning eyebrow at the witch. "M-mine looks disgusting." He told her, giving a small shrug and looking back down in to the mess again, really trying to see something and coming up blank.

After listening to the professor's instructions, Naomi sipped her tea, blowing on it to cool it off so she could take larger swallows and get to the actual divination part. She noticed Finley making faces at his cup from the corner of her eye and grinned. Not everyone liked tea, but it was a big thing in her family, so she loved it.

Studying the mass of leaves in her cup Naomi grimaced. She didn't get any sort of feeling or premonition from them, so she picked up her book and flipped to the right page, setting it open between them.

"Uh, I guess mine kinda looks like that one?" she said, pointing to one of the blobs that was labelled 'falcon.' "Apparently it means 'deadly enemy,'" she added with a frown. I certainly hope I'm not as good at reading tea leaves as I am at getting normal visions, she thought.

Looking over at Naomi's cup, Finley frowned a little as she likened the shapes. "C-could be." The boy replied, frowning at the meaning of the Falcon and then looking to Naomi with more than a little concern on his features. Had she seen something and not told him? Finley didn't know, but he averted his eyes a moment later, back to his cup.

He didn't want to ask what she'd Seen, in case he didn't like the answer.

Looking back in the mush at the bottom of his cup, Finley thought he'd seen something that resembled a heart... Well, if you turned your head a little, and squinted, it looked like a heart. Turning to Naomi, Finley thought for a moment, before asking. "W-what does a heart m-mean? At t-the top of the c-cup?" He asked, thinking he already had an idea and not being completely comfortable with it.

Divination Lesson Two (All Years) Empty

Amethyst was positive she was late, but that didn't phase her. She was moving down the hall as quickly as possible, bumping into people and apologising over and over again as she was trying to reach her way to the seventh floor, and to the Divination Classroom.

She loved Divination. It was one of her strongest subjects, and she wanted to do her best. She would do her best, even if that meant making a few sacrifices.

Arriving to class wasn't as difficult as she thought, since not many people were gathered around the last few floors so the staircase was practically empty, which made it easier for the girl to run. Not sure whether to knock or not, she slipped in as quietly as possible and found a sit somewhere in the back. The less attention the better.
Though as she sat down, she understood that she had no idea what they were doing.

She looked around, hoping to understand when she spotted the other student drinking tea. Tea? Tea leaves! How could she not think of that. Turning her gaze to the table, she smiled as her own cup was there, waiting for her. Taking it softly with shaky fingers, she took a couple of sips. She was really curious as to what she would learn about her future.
