Ancient Runes - Lesson Three (All Years)

Amethyst had her eyes glued to the door, waiting for her obviously very late sister. Where was she again! Why was she always late? Amethyst, herself, wasn't the most known person to always arrive on time, but she was trying tax much as she could and lately she was succeeding. Kinda.

Once she heard the door open, instead of seeing her sister walk it, a surprise followed. TJ walked in, looking... The same as he always did but it was something else that made her raise an eyebrow. He silently came and took a seat beside her, earning a shake of the head from her. That's all she could manage to say when he asked her if it was okay. She was...at loss.

And then , her dear sister decided to make an appearance. Only then did the Hufflepuff witch remember that she always sat with her younger sister. So when Sapphire gave her that look, Amethyst just avoided her eyes and shifted her attention to the professor. She was playing safe.

Truthfully when they were told they would be learning to defend themselves with the help of runes Adaline wanted to sulk and pout as she already knew how to do that but she then saw the advantage in becoming more proficient in it.

Letting out a soft sigh, the brunette haired seventh year looked through the classroom to try and find someone to work with. She hadn't seen Kai enter the classroom so he probbaly wasn't going to come at all which left her with pretty much no-one to work with. Aiden, she knew, would take Sebastian as a partner. So that was that and as she didn't know the others she wasn't quite sure what they would be doing.

Sighing softly, she bit her lower lip before shrugging her shoulders and turning to a random classmate of hers.

"Want to work together?" She asked them with a soft smile on her lips.

When Aiden saw Sebastian entering the room he grinned brightly at his secret boyfriend and his grin widened when he saw Sebastian coming towards the desk he was sitting at.

"Hey." He hummed softly before focusing on the Professor when he started talking. He blinked his eyes in slight amusement which then turned to shock when he realized that they would be doing a practical with runes that would help them protect themselves. Truthfully Aiden had only been thinking they would be learning to draw runes that would protect them but not the fact that they would be doing a practical as well.

The moment the Headmaster had told them to pair up, he turned to Sebastian with a soft smile on his lips. "Pair up with me?" He questioned the older Ravenclaw with a slightly hopeful look on his face that he hoped Sebastian couldn't see but he doubted it.

As Professor Jameson explained what they would be doing, Sebastian nodded his approval in that moment. It sounded like a good plan to try them out, after all, theory was only good for so many things, and defending yourself was not one of them.

The notion of pairing up was one that Sebastian quite liked, too. He was just about to turn to Aiden, to ask if he wanted to pair up, when the Slytherin beat him to it. "As if I'm gonna say no." The Ravenclaw replied, smirking as he got up from his seat. Slipping his wand from his pocket, Sebastian moved to a more open area of the room.

"Do you want to fend me off, or should I try to block you?" Sebastian asked, trying not to think too much in to the double meaning of the words he'd just said. It failed, though, quite drastically, so Seb shook his head, trying to focus back on the lesson before them.
