Crista tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, having changed from her robes into more comfortable clothing she felt a little more a ease but she couldn't help but wonder if she could do this? She could easily talk in front of a crowd of students she probably met not to long ago or at least some of them. She shook her head, she needed to focus. Slytherin, not Ravenclaw; calm, cool, collected.

She quickly started to wave her wand along the black chalk board, making clear white letters appear along it's surface The Goblin Revolts: Reasons, Attacks and Characters. in neat tight script, truthfully she hated the Goblin Revolts but it would be easier for the students who were in Binns classes to transfer to her style of teaching.

She flicked her wand at a stack of papers and they floated to each table in the room, it was her class syllabus. Basically it described what she was intending to teach the students, ranging from Goblin Revolts to Magical Governments, Founders to Merlin, Ancient Magics to New Age Magic.

Where the old classroom was very dusty and seemed to be still for the most part, she took the liberty to clean up and hang a few things along the walls. Historical images, posters and maps; add in a few baubles and it was perfect.

So Crista just sat behind her desk trying to calm her burning nerves, pulling out her tome of the Founders and started to read; she hoped it would help. Waiting for the first of the students to arrive before doing anything, she just hoped she wouldn't have to argue with a student. Couldn't Binns have just stuck around for another half decade?

History of Magic had been quite cool to Victoria, what with being taught by a ghost, the American witch had been quite impressed with that idea. However, hearing that the professor had been replaced with a living person had peaked Victoria's interest. After all, it was someone new to meet and hopefully they would teach just as well as Professor Binns had.

The Head Girl was therefore early to class, a habit that was as old as time. Hurrying in to the room, Victoria smiled warmly at the new professor. Professor Silver if she remembered correctly, which was a beautiful name in itself. And the witch, well, she was also very pretty. "Good morning, Professor!" Victoria greeted as she made her way to the front of the class and took a seat at the front.

It took her a few moments to locate her textbook, a notepad and a quill, and Victoria was ready for the lesson. All that was needed now was a few more students and they could begin.

History of Magic - now this was Finley's kind of class. You didn't need to be good at magic for this lesson, because it didn't require any. All this class required was an avid reader, and Finley was most certainly one of those. Not to mention his memory was quite good, so remembering all the dates was most certainly something he was capable of doing.

With that in mind, there was something of a spring in his step as he moved in to the classroom. There was only one other person here, the Head Girl again. She always seemed to beat him to classes. Taking up a seat in the middle of the classroom, Finley readied himself for the class. His notebook out, textbook beside it, and a pen for writing, Finley kept looking to the front, swinging his legs idly as his chair was a little too high.

"G-good morning, p-professor." He acknowledged after a short moment, it always took Finley a moment to build the courage to speak, but he tried, that was for sure.

History of Magic hadn't been too bad in the past, Josh had used the time where they basically learnt nothing to do things that were more important. Homework for other lessons, or simply planning out other things he needed to do, Quidditch training and the like.

But now they had a new teacher, Josh wasn't sure that he was going to get away with quite so much anymore.

Heading in to the classroom, Josh took in those were there and sat somewhere in the middle. Away from the small Ravenclaw who looked much to enthusiastic for this. Pulling out his own book and a quill, Josh looked to the front of the class. He never spoke to the professors unless giving an answer or correcting them, so he didn't make any notion of acknowledgement. What they would be covering today Josh noted on the board.

Goblin Revolts.

Well, it was an okay subject, he just wondered how the witch before them was going to teach such things.

History of magic always seemed like such a bore. She didn't quite understand why there needed to be a class dedicated to a subject where one could easily read about certain events in books. If one were really interested in the accuracy, then one would research. But to Violet, there was no point. The past was the past and only impacted the present if people let it.

Regardless, Violet rocked up to class. Why? Simply because it was an easy class to pass, and it would count towards her marks. Easy to study for with a textbook, and easy to remember.

She walked into class, taking a seat at the back of the room, not taking much notice of anyone else there before her, because none really caught her attention. She took out her notebook and quill, to ready herself for the lesson. Seeing that the lesson would revolve around the 'Goblin Revolts', Vi flipped open her textbook and skimmed over some information, while she waited for the teacher to begin teaching.

History of magic was one of the lessons that Taylor couldn't stand, due to the fact that it wasn't a practical class and involved her having to sit still- something she couldn't do very well. Taylor preferred the type of class where you had to practice spells or make something. Not a class where you copied out notes from a textbook while the teacher droned on about the particular subject they were learning.

She walked into the class and sat down in a seat near the middle of the room. She slowly flicked through her textbook before closing her eyes and leaning back against the chair, resting her feet on the empty desk in front of her. Being who she was, if Taylor didn't really enjoy a lesson, then she would rarely pay any attention to it.

Lessons like this could be interesting, but weren't usually taught very well. She opened her eyes again and noticed that their usual teacher wasn't sitting at the front. With a small smile, she dropped her feet off the desk. Maybe this new teacher would be much better than their previous one.

Crista took a deep breath standing from her desk, choosing to start her pre-lesson. "Hello class, My name is Professor Silver." She said brightly with a smile "On your desks is the syllabus for my class, I expect each of you to pay close attention." She said looking from Murray, Lynch and Green "You'll find that the text book I chose for this class 'Diana Wilkmans Guide to English History.' only hints on some of the main parts of my lessons." She explained stepping up to her board, writing along the surface with her hands "There shall be no foolish wand waving in my class as well." She snapped with her back turned.

"Now well start with the History of Wizard relations with the Goblins." She said scratching the piece of chalk along the board "The Wizards first discovered the Goblins in 2013 BC, though the records are very scarce from this time period and it is primarily speculation on History experts." She pulled out her wand tapping the piece of chalk a few times then it started to draw the silluet of a Goblin "Can anyone tell me some facts about the Goblin race?" She asked turning around, eyes darting from one student to the next.

Victoria's attention was straight on to the professor the moment she started talking, quill at the ready. The professor seemed nice enough, jumping in with introductions and explaining that the text before them was only a starter for what they would need for the year, and Victoria couldn't help but be excited at the prospect of new books.

Victoria cringed as the professor used the board to keep their attention, the squeal of the board grating on her being.

The notion of wand waving in the class seemed an odd notion for them to be asked, but Victoria didn't comment. Perhaps some people behind her had thought that it would be okay.

Victoria continued to listen, making notes as the professor did in her neat, cursive handwriting. This made it much easier to revise from, and Victoria also might need to help some other people with revision, so they definitely needed to be neat. But her attention was taking the moment the question was given and Victoria's hand shot in to the air.

Once called upon, Victoria spoke clearly so as the whole room could hear her. "The goblin race is one that coexists with us in the Magical World. They're known first and foremost for their capabilities with metal - most commonly known as the creatures that mint our currency for the magical world - but also speculated to do it for the Muggle world too, secretly, of course. Goblins are deemed to be highly intelligent, which from my experience in Gringotts I can only concur with, but they're also highly gifted in magic, not needing anything to act as a conductor to their magic." Victoria explained, so very thankful that all of her reading had finally paid off.

Gabriel slid silently into the History of Magic class, if it wasn't required this year he wouldn't be taking it. Sure learning about the wars was kind of cool but Goblin's?! Come on soooooo Boring!

He froze at the piercing glare of Professor Silver, she then went on with the lecture as he entered. He slowly slid next to his fellow Gryffindor, pulling out a quill and the text book.

"Hey, did I miss anything?" He whispered to her in a low voice, to not attract the Professor's attention. He had to admit though, having someone alive teach the subject might not make him fall asleep. Then again this Professor might but send him a stinging jinx if he tried, he wasn't normally on time for his classes but that was how he operated.

Better late and deal with the lecture, than be early and be bored.

Taylor was barely listening to the teacher but she jumped when she heard the sound of nails against the board. "Merlin." She muttered to herself, running a hand through her brown hair. She couldn't understand why the teacher felt the need to remind them that they shouldn't use wands in the lesson. It was pretty obvious that they shouldn't use them.

She smirked when she saw the other Gryffindor walk into the class and watched him sit down. Shaking her head, she replied
"Absolutely nothing."Taylor glanced to see if the professor had noticed them talking before turning back to face him. "So what were you doing thast was more important than turning up here?" She asked, crossing her arms over her chest as she spoke. "Must have been interesting. Because this subject is soooo riveting." She teased lightly.
