| With Christmas here, Jake was quite excited. Christmas was a great time of year for him, and today was Jake getting in the festive spirit, donning a Santa hat, Jake had put a selection of festive head wear on a table near the door, insisting his students pick one up and wear one if they wanted to. It would make the lesson a little bit more fun, and, well, Jake simply wanted to make sure the kids were in the festive mood.
Today, they would be doing something of a team building exercise, using whatever spells the class could think of to make it work. Jake would, of course, explain as a whole.
The class was empty except for the pile of random items in the middle. Wooden planks, old broken tables, chairs, shelves. It was all for today's lesson, but there was no explanation, only Jake sat on his desk, waiting patiently for his students to arrive. ________________________________________________~ Auror ~ Profile ~ DADA Professor ~ ~ In a Relationship ~ 36 ~ Father ~ 6' ~ American Accent ~ | |

| Ryder loved Defense Against the Dark Arts, since he loved being able to cast spells and all that. Unlike, the rest of his classes which were textbooks, and he hated books, well he hated reading period, and he knew it was rule, but when did he really care about rules. Soon making his way to Defense Against the Dark Arts.
The boy wondered what Professor Newbury would have in store for this lesson. Since it was almost Christmas time one of the favorite holidays for many students, and most were going home. As he soon entered the classroom to see that it was empty and Professor Newbury was sitting on his desk.
This would be an easy lesson, crossed Ryder's mind, as he soon looked to see Santa's hats and he smiled. Wondering, whether or not they would be wearing them. He made his way and looked, " Are we wearing these? " asked Ryder, hoping for a good answer. Then soon he took one, and placed it on his head.
Well truly he wondered what in the world they would be learning, since he wanted to cast spells since that is what would make him happy. Soon looking, and he waited and knew he was first for a change since he generally was not first.

| Cole had gotten up and hoped he would not be late for another lesson, as he soon began walking out of his common room. He hoped it would be a fun lesson too. Since after all it was almost Christmas time, and that meant his whole family would be home for a holiday with his siblings which would mean arguing between his younger brothers, and his sister Madison talking about boys and everything, Sophie just being herself, and Charlotte talking about college.
As he soon began walking up as he soon wondered if he was early and he made his way to the classroom. Then entering it he saw it was empty except for some old antique things, but he saw Professor Newbury and a younger student. Well it seemed he was early for this class as he looked to see Santa hats. Then wondering if he should take one, but he did taken on and he placed it on his head.
He wondered if perhaps he looked like a prince charming in santa hat, which had him thought he was ever girl's dream as he soon looked, and he waited to be instructed. |

| The Holiday's had been coming rather quickly in Tristan mind, and his new nature was not becoming easier. As he soon decided to make his way to Defense Against the Dark Arts, with a smile on his fourteen year old face. This had to be good as he soon wondered if this would be another Christmas lesson. Since that is what it seemed the classes had soon became.
Which he was okay with, since he knew sometimes you had to just let loose and celebrate the holiday season. As it seemed with everyone as he soon entered the classroom seeing two other students were there and then there was Professor Newbury, who had been sitting on his desk with a Santa hat on.
Tristan saw the hat's on the two other boys which gave him the impression that he had to wear them as he strolled over and took a hat, and placed it on his head. He knew this had to be interesting as he soon took a seat to the side and waited.
Since people were going to be coming in soon. |

| Defence Against the Dark Arts was one of the subjects Finley had never been great at. He struggled with magic because of his stutter, and his lack of confidence. However, over the years, Finley had over come the former with his learning of non-verbal magic. This was a difficult branch of magic that Finley had gotten to grips with, but still had a long way to go.
However, even though Defence Against the Dark Arts had been one of his worst marks at O.W.L. level, at an Exceeds Expectations, Finley had kept going with it, and had told himself he would pass it at N.E.W.T. level too.
Which was why Finley was here today, to prove not only to himself, but also Professor Newbury, that he could, and would succeed. Tenacity was something the Ravenclaw had in abundance when it came to studying, and Finley was not going to be bettered by this subject.
Slipping through the door of the class, Finley nodded in Professor Newbury's direction, and moved to the side of the room, eyeing the pile of rubbish with curiosity as he waited. What in Merlin's name had their professor decided on doing today? |

| Defense Against the Dark Arts. Elyah made a face when she found out that was the lesson for today. It wasn't that she didn't find it interesting or useful, on the contrary, she considered the subject a must for young witches and wizards. They always had to be prepared for anything that would come up. But she didn't know how well she could attribute to that.
Sighing nonetheless, she got all of her things and once she was ready, she made her way out of her Common Room, moving up the Grand Staircase and towards the DADA Classroom. Good thing about these lessons was that she always had to go up and down the Grand Staircase. That was some sort of a workout, wasn't it? At least she would be able to stay in shape for the next years!
Upon arriving on the Third Floor, Elyah wasted no time, and after apologising as she pushed her way though a couple of older students who seemed to be in a very deep conversation, she finally made it just outside the classroom. Taking a deep breath, she sheepishly pushed the door open and moved inside.
Once her eyes landed on the hats Professor Newbury had provided for the students, a big smile touched her lips and the kid inside her surfaced. Grabbing one, Elyah placed the hat on her long black hair and moved farther into the room. How bad could this be? |

| Defence Against the Dark Arts was one of Max's 'okay' lessons. He was neither good nor bad at the subject, really. Professor Newbury was a great teacher, though, and Max loved his lessons, so when he'd checked his schedule that morning to see he had the class, Max was instantly in a good mood.
Hurrying through the crowds of the hallways, Max slipped through the door to his class and let out a sigh. It was always so busy when they were moving around, and when you were quite small, you got pushed around a lot. The Gryffindor couldn't wait to grow bigger, then he wouldn't get knocked around all the time.
However, the Gryffindor's spirits were raised when he saw the Santa hats on the table by the door, and with a grin, he pulled one on to his head. "I can't believe we get to wear hats! This is awesome, Pro- Jake!" Max corrected himself just in time, before noticing Elyah and moving to her side. "Hey! Nice hat!" Max said, the smile on his lips showing he was quite impressed with such a simple idea.
After all, simple things please simple minds. |

| Defense Against the Dark Arts always managed to brighten up the particularly sour mood that Care of Magical Creatures had always managed to put her in. In her opinion this class was far more useful than the prior and because of her opinion, she seemed to enjoy DADA a bit more as she also made better marks in the class. Another plus was that the class was located indoors, away from forests and stinky, filthy creatures.
Severine let her arms swing slightly by her sides as she walked to the class, a slight smile spread across her face. Her body was a bit looser than normal, she wasn't as uptight and rigid nor did she feel like it. For once, she felt great. She felt free and not contained and she felt like she wasn't a Charlot. Her mind wondered briefly to the though of whether Isaline would be there and then she debated calling another meeting with the girl. Maybe this one would be a bit different as Severine had noticed change since the last time she'd had a one on one discussion with her older sister.
The girl slid into the room that, like always, was devoid of desks and one glance around the room made her frown. Festive hats. Severine just about gagged as she turned to see a table of hats near the door. No one could force her into wearing such a hideous thing. Christmas was of course a favoured holiday by the middle Charlot, yet she couldn't bring herself to be such a festive character and instead, she focused on the fact that Christmas granted her interesting family time and a break from Hogwarts. |

| Lux hated Christmas. No doubt about that. She hated it with a fiery passion. Oh, she liked winter, the cold and the snow but Christmas never put her in a good mood. Perhaps it was because all the kids in the orphanage were forced to work extra hard with less food. Or maybe because it was just too happy. Halloween was more to her taste. Not Christmas.
Which was why she rolled her eyes and twisted her lips in disdain at the hats laid out on the table. She would've spat at it but refrained from doing so, sure that she would be reprimanded if she did such a thing. At least there was no Christmas music playing. That would have tested the limits of her patience.
She stalked into the room, taking in the sight of the pile of random objects on the floor and merely raising and eyebrow. It would be an interesting lesson today but Lux couldn't help but imagine making a bonfire out of the stuff and maybe roasting some s'mores. |

| The days growing closer to the time she would be leaving for Christmas, she had been in a festive mood. Even though she knew that once she got home it would constant arguing since some of her siblings loved to clash with each other. Soon walking with a smile as she held her books in hands, and wearing a tiny Christmas pin. Hoping that her classes would be well.
As she knew some hated Christmas and were not in the festive spirit like she was. Since she saw many students who seemed sad. Leading her to just continue and get to her classes, and she was one of the few festive souls. Then seeing Professor Newbury's classroom and entering it letting out a smile.
Soon taking a look at the table which held Christmas hats, and she knew someone wanted them to be in the spirit. As she soon walked over to grab a hat and placed it on her head. Then looking at her Professor waiting to be instructed.
Since she had not wanted to be late. |
