After a good year of teaching - or as close as Jake believed he would ever get - Jake had decided to throw something of a challenge at his class. A lesson based on teamwork of all ages was what he had decided on to see how well people worked with one another.

It wasn't difficult, per se, more based on the skill of many people working together than of the individual. But, most importantly, it was going to be something Jake hoped everyone would find fun. After all, that was the most important part of school was to enjoy what you were learning.

There were, once again, no chairs or desks in the classroom, and today, the room looked a lot larger than it normally did. There was no explanation as to why it might be needed, because Jake would explain everything when his students arrived. Sitting on top of his own desk, Jake waited for the students to file in, hoping it would be a success.

Naomi walked into the class taught by one of her favorite professors. Professor Newbury was easygoing and cheerful, offering encouragement in DADA and in flying without making students feel stupid. Although group discussions might not be her favorite mode of learning, she had nevertheless enjoyed last class and had even had fun writing her homework essay, going well beyond their minimum length when she got caught up in her arguments. She offered Professor Newbury a smile. "Hello Professor," she greeted him in her customarily quiet voice.

Walking to a corner, Naomi piled her things out of the way and pulled out her wand, assuming it would be a practical lesson. With nothing else to do, she tucked her wand behind her ear and pulled out a Muggle pen, beginning to sketch an intricate design on her forearm. It was something she did when bored, besides reading. A flowering vine began to take shape in blue ink.

Paulina walked into the classroom and smiled at people who were there. "Hello professor Newbury," she said there now and stood next door against the wall. She saw here no desk or chairs. So she had no ide what they will do excatly in this lesson. Probably some practical.

She looked at that other girl who was here. She was same house as her, probably younger but she could be wrong too. She haven't seen her around very much or at least haven't talked her before. Today wasn't day to do start too. She just crossed her hands on the chest and waited others to arrive. Her wand was in safe place she will pull it out when it's needed. She sighed and really wondered what they will learn today. She hoped it could be fun or it's not fun class at all. She didn't like to be bored.

Walking into class, early as she was taught to be, she let her bag down gently as she leaned against one of the walls. "Good morning, Professor," she greeted politely, sending a smile towards Jake. Looking around the familiar room, she let herself relax for the time being. Oddly enough, the place seemed slightly bigger than it did the last time. Perhaps it was her imagination, but she wasn't one to miss details, so she was confused.

Maybe there's something special planned for today? she wondered mentally, not wanting to be rude by asking, instead just waiting. She was sure the man would explain everything when the time was right. Looking around, she hoped that Alexander would come; despite the fact that what they were was still unsure, she quite liked being with the Slytherin. After all, DADA was the class that he said he actually attended, so maybe he would show up soon.

Schooling by herself was something that was both awesome and lonely. She didn't have her parents to annoy, but then again, she had Phillip by her side. And of course, there were other people to meet and be friends with - but Corienna was not really one to make friends, and so she only had a very small handful.

It never once bothered her that her best friend was in a house that apparently rivalled her own, because Phil was just someone she didn't want to lose to anything, least of all something as petty as the colour of robes. After all, green wasn't even a colour she liked, and red... Well, she was quite certain that they shared a favourite colour.

Entering class with a smile, she sighed, noticing that he wasn't there yet, but made her way to the front anyway, dropping her bag roughly. "Morning," she said absent-mindedly to the Professor, looking around and waiting impatiently for Phillip to arrive.

Rhys made his way to DADA, the last lesson was interesting but the young boy was hoping that they would be learning something abit more useful, something which they could use to actually defend themselves. So when Rhys walked into the class and noticed there were no desk, he lit up like a Christmas tree, he walked over to Naomi

"Heya Naomi" he said brightly, he then pulled out his wand "Im so glad I'll be able to use this bad boy" he said as he flourished his wand, and while he didn't cast a spell several white sparks emitted from his wand, Rhys jumped a little as it took him by surprise, he then looked at Naomi with blushing cheeks

"Whoops, I kinda forget that while were only learning the basics, these things are still pretty powerful" he remarked before glancing back at his wand sheepishly.  It would be an understatement to say the young boy was eager for this lesson.

Alexander had noted Defence Against the Dark Arts last lesson was drawing around much quicker than he'd anticipated. Which meant he made one of only a few appearances in that year. Most teachers worked on the basis of grades being given on the last lesson, so he was quite sure he was going to be alright.

Not rushing to the class, Alexander slipped in to the room, giving a small nod to Professor Newbury before he noted one of only a few people he actually spoke to in the large school. Chara Fletcher. Moving past everyone else, Alexander moved to the witch's side, dropping his bag down next to her before putting his hand gently on the witch's back.

"Stand up straight." He murmured loud enough only for her to hear. Ladies didn't lean, and he was quite sure she'd simply forgotten herself for a moment. If it had been him, he would have wanted to know so that he didn't do it again. "Please." Alexander added, his hand dropping from her back a moment later as his eyes moved to the front of the class, wondering what they might be doing today.

After a busy morning of helping the Headmaster with a few pieces of student paperwork, Victoria had hurried along to Defence Against the Dark Arts. She'd heard the lesson had been combined to all years, which meant that Jake must have had something important in mind for them.

To be honest, she was quite excited because it meant that they would probably be doing something in a group as she'd seen him do before. Of course, Victoria wasn't privy to what exactly, but she was excited no less.

Skipping through the halls, Victoria let herself in to the classroom. Allegra wasn't here, but Victoria knew the witch was busy with her plants and a lot of other things, so perhaps she'd decided against coming this lesson. "Good morning everyone!" The Head Girl greeted her peers, as she normally did, before her attention turned to the professor at the front of the class. "Good morning, Jake!" She added, because the professors at Hogwarts always deserved a little more respect, no matter who they were.

If there was one class that Finley knew he was going back to, it was Defence Against the Dark Arts. Yes, he wasn't the best at the subject, in fact, he was quite sure he was one of the worst at the subject, but he knew that he would get help and encouragement in this class. Which was more than he could say for some of the classes in this school.

So slipping in to the classroom just behind the Head Girl, Finley didn't draw attention to himself, moving to stand beside the one person he knew he could talk to in the room. Naomi. However, Naomi seemed to have someone talking to her, so the boy didn't say anything, instead just giving Professor Newbury a small smile in greeting.

Then, his feet became very interesting, as he waited for the class to begin.

Phillip had been up late last night drawing from this book of dragons he checked out from the library. Their scales were so shiny, so beautiful and he took to actually reading the book (shocker to anyone that knew him) and found that dragons were magnificent creatures. Their wings engulfed the sky in pretty, shimmering and scaly apparations. Their teeth were sharp enough to pierce through diamonds. Their eyes were this glittering colors that ranged from blues to embers to yellows and greens and he was so utterly transfixed by the pure brilliance of them. He started to fantasize being a dragon, flying about freely away from all the people down there, and then he passed out and dreamed he could turn into a dragon and blow fire that would burn villages and kill knights.

It was a pretty wicked dream in his opinion. Although tired, he lazily dragged himself out of bed and to the Dining Hall where he was lucky to snag himself a muffin he ate hurriedly and drank someone's orange juice before classes begun. Clothes askew, his tie was barely in a knot and his robes were hanging off his shoulder, and bag hefted on his shoulder he walked to class. When it came time for Defense Against the Dark Arts, he saw Corienna already there and visibly brightened and rushed over to her grinning brightly.

"Corie! How's my favorite snake?" He asked, the question a bit lower so not to start a fight, slinging an arm over her shoulders relaxed, feeling super macho and manly since he was rather tall.
