| Prim sighed softly as she listened to the Professor and while she would love to answer, she was keeping herself in check. Better not be seen as a know-it-all, even this early into her fourth year. Listening to her Professor with one ear while with the other she listened to the talks around her, Prim couldn't help but just roll her eyes in slight annoyance though she was quick to just smile when someone looked at her.
Tapping her right foot against the floor, she looked around to see whom she should partner up with; she didn't have many friends and those she did have weren't in Herbology with her, which just sucked if you ask her but she'd have to make do.
Biting her lower lip, the fourteen-year-old curiously looked around to see what pairs had been made before she would approach someone about pairing up. Slipping her ear muffs on she ignored the students that tried making trouble in class.
Worst case scenario, she'd do the assignment on her own. |

| Severine wasn't excited about seeing Herbology on her timetable. There was something about it that made her cringe. Maybe it was the thought of getting dirt under her fingernails or sweating due to the humidity the greenhouses captured, maybe it was just due to the fact that it seemed pointless. Either way, the sixth year let out a groan and drug herself to the class.
She caught the tale end of some younger students arguing and rolled her eyes. The new professor was unfortunately not hot and attractive like she sort of hoped he'd be. She needed eye candy in this school, she needed to develop a crush so she didn't seem as young and naive to Isaline. The girl picked up the earmuffs and frowned. How many people have worn these? She shuddered and decided to not think about that because she wasn't a an of passing out - but then again itcould be fun. She'd be sent to the hospital wing, out of Herbology and she'd basically be the center of attention.
The girl smirked and listened to some more exchanges between the professor and other students before deciding that she didn't care to partner up and instead moved to be alone. At the words of the professor, she grimaced once more. "How do I know these are clean and not parasite filled?" The question was asked quietly in a rhetorical manner because she didn't care to hear the answer because chances are, it wasn't the one she was looking for. |

| As Carlotta sat down in and amongst the storm that was raging in the classroom, Arthur gave her a small smile and a softly spoken hello. He didn't know what to make of the new professor, because quite honestly, he was getting ripped apart by the Head Girl and another Hufflepuff he didn't know. Both of whom, Arthur had made a mental note to keep away from at this point.
In a way, Arthur felt sorry for the professor, but he was not the kind of kid who was going to step up and tell people to back off. He was the quiet kid.
With the instructions given, Arthur turned slightly towards Carlotta. "Do you... wanna partner up?" He asked, they had spoken a few times now, and Arthur did trust her enough not to believe she wouldn't try anything stupid. Pulling on his ear muffs, Arthur waited for Carlotta to follow suit. Then... well, then they could get on with the methodical move of the Mandrake to its new home. |

| "Hello, I don't believe we've met. I'm Elowyn Conners. Or Ellie. And you are?"
Great, Jacques thought to himself as the Ravenclaw witch thought she could latch on to him. Another Ellie, as well, what were the chances of that? Allowing the girl a mere moment, Jacques turned to look at her, raising a single eyebrow. "I'm out of your league." The Frenchman told her, calmly, coldly, and deadly seriously. Jacques Clement was not the kind of guy who took interest in women, truthfully, they took interest in him. Worked hard to get his interest, and inevitably, ended up failing.
Turning back to look at the plant the professor was talking about, Jacques took up his ear muffs and moved to get his own Mandrake. He wasn't in any rush to repot the thing, but it kind of made his statement much more believable than hanging around for 'Elowyn Conners'. Moving back with the plant, Jacques didn't look towards the Ravenclaw, instead just getting on with the repotting by himself. ________________________________________________ | |

| Carlotta watched as the lesson seemed to take a turn for the worst- people getting way, way off of topic, inappropriate suggestions and, well general rudeness and immaturity. She simply nodded when the professor had asked her not to fire spells, and for a good reason she supposed. She hadn't thought of the possibility of hitting the plants- it had almost been a reflex really- just something that she was used to dealing with. She wasn't going to get involved with anymore of it, except for correcting her brother's comment- something she felt like she had to do after she had practically confused him. He'd be alright though, she hadn't intended it to be a particularly strong spell.
"Do you... wanna partner up?"
She turned to Arthur, who she had sat next to and smiled "Yeah, sure," she said, pulling on her earmuffs and looking back towards Arthur "Let's start then," she grinned. |

| And he was flustered. It was plain on his face. And honestly, it just made Violet want to push that bit further. Not only that, but he didn't know her name. Now, should she state her name? She felt as though it'd make it so she wasn't just a student taking advantage of anonymity, but rather make her seem even more confident than she was probably coming off.
And yes, she knew she was being immature- but it made the lesson far more entertaining than it would have been. Plus, it was the only way she knew to temporarily cure her boredom.
"Lynch," she stated her surname plainly. He was trying to be firm with a "Please don't do that again".
Naturally, she had to retort "Or what, Sir?" she challenged. Her tone was flippant- and in fact, she didn't really care for a response. She moved to get her earmuffs- not bothering to partner with anyone, she worked better alone. |

| At the acceptance of his offer, Arthur smiled a little, pulling the bigger pot closer to them (but making sure it was a little closer to Carlotta. She was smaller than him, and not even a highly intelligent person needed to work out that this meant she wouldn't be able to reach as far. Or, maybe it was just Arthur's overly analytical brain... or maybe just him...
Then, Arthur lifted the sack of compost on to the table so they could make the bed of compost beneath. Turning slightly to Carlotta, he motioned that they should pat the compost down just enough to make sure there was plenty of soil - and therefore nutrients - for the plant to grow.
Picking up his first handful of soil, Arthur pushed it in to the bottom of the plant pot, allowing Carlotta the space to do herself before going again. This wasn't too difficult, nor too out of the scope of what Arthur had thought they might do, so for once, this new thing hadn't been too daunting. |

| Eli was quickly approached by a Hufflepuff boy, who looked to be a couple of years older, asking if he needed a partner. He noticed a slight accent of sorts, but it wasn't enough to impair his understanding. The confundus charm however, did. But only slightly. He got the jist of what the boy was saying.
"Partner? Yeah, sure mate," he grinned and decided to get to work, picking up his earmuffs once more and placing them over his ears. He found an empty pot and put it between the Hufflepuff and himself, starting by putting some soil in the bottom, making sure to allow the Hufflepuff time to contribute. The task hadn't been that hard, just repotting plants, thankfully. He found his thoughts growing clearer and clearer.
"Okay," he said to the boy loudly, again- because he couldn't hear himself over his earmuffs. He quickly realised that he didn't need them until they pulled the plant out, taking one ear off "So, reckon we both pull, and then one gets the soil ASAP?" he asked the boy. |

| Carlotta rather enjoyed working with Arthur. She supposed it was the way that he made it so the both of them had equal work. She picked up her own handful of soil, and like he did, helped to pat it down into the pot- hands brushing hands occassionally. It was a fairly straightforward task really- repotting mandrakes.
Soon enough, there was enough soil in the bottom of the pot, and Carlotta turned to Arthur, while she picked up her earmuffs "Ready for the fun part?" she asked, grinning "Though I'll need your help with it," she added. It wasn't necessarily that she couldn't pull the plant from its pot herself, moreso that with his strength, it'd be a quicker, less traumatic event for the mandrake. Additionally, she wanted to give him the same courtesy that he had given her. Besides, it was more fun to work together anyway. She placed the earmuffs over her ears and looked back to him, grabbing the base of the leaves.
"Ready?" |

| The placing of the soil went okay, the slight brushing of hands making Arthur apologise under his breath, even though neither one of them would be able to hear it through the ear muffs that were currently working to protect their ears. Of course, that didn't matter too much, but it seemed the polite thing to do when you touched someone without their permission.
As Carlotta readied for the Mandrake, Arthur moved to grab the base too, his hand slightly overlapping hers as he got ready to pull the plant from it's pot. He didn't think too much of the fact that they were - essentially - now holding hands. The question of him being ready made Arthur nod, clearly, once. Then, he pulled the plant up with Carlotta, and moved it quickly to the pot.
You could see the plant howling in distaste at being moved, but Arthur didn't hesitate. With his free hand, the Slytherin scooped more soil in to the plant pot, trying to cover the Mandrake enough so they could begin to pat the soil down. All the while, his hand remained on the base of the leaves, to stop the plant from deciding to run off, or something stupid like that. |
