| There was satisfaction at having answered correctly and earning his house points. Listening to the professor, he nearly groaned but was thankful that he was going to only have them toss balls at each other instead of spells. That was a good thing and the boy was really appreciative of the fact. He supposed that while the balls woldn't do them permanent damage, it would however if thrown hard enough leave a bruise or such which would be a reminder to them. There was also the likely fact that the adult didn't want to have to undo anything that went wrong with the resulting spelled students who failed their shields.
Nodding that he heard his professor, having already resigned himself to partner the Slytherin before words were ever spoken. Giving the girls an assessing gaze he was sure that this did not fall under the 'Don't hit a girl unless they deserve it and are hitting you first,' rule. Besides, he was sure that they would have fun throwing the balls and trying to him, so he turned and fetched a few balls from the basket and handed them to the girls. "I'm sure you would like to go first?" |

| Had Mimosa been blessed with the gift of consideration or being particularly observant to things that did not involve herself, perhaps she would have noticed the rather distracted nature of their professor. As it was, the child possessed neither of those essential qualities and was even more distracted when she saw that they would be getting, hit by huge, round, pain inducing and bruising balls. The girl let out a tiny squeak, only the fact that she was acting as Mercy's current support keeping her from hiding behind the Gryffindor.
But Mercy was unwell, she shouldn't be hit with balls. Maybe.. Mimosa Mimosa could just get hit by a few in ehr fiend's place. Luckily, the moment of decision was delayed as Gaspard came up to the girls offering them the first go. A huge grin lit up the Slytherin's face. As usual, Gaspard had solved a problem before she had had the chance to face it. He really did have the answer to everything!
"Yes we would," she replied cheerfully, grabbing one and handing it to Mercy before taking the other for herself. Any extras were lined up between the two girls for an easy reach. "Okay, go stand there. And watch out, I'm going to hit super hard," she warned with a giggle. She might not like getting hit by balls but she sure had fun hitting others with them. Gaspard was too strong to bruise anyway, she figured as she took aim.
Mimosa was all set to hit the Ravenclaw right in the chest, unfortunately her poor aim had other ideas. The ball flew from her hand and landed on the teacher's desk which hopefully had nothing on it but if it did, the thing would certainly get knocked over with a significant crash.
Not deterred, she picked up the next ball, this tine managing to stay on course for Gapard's left arm even if not square on his torso. Should the boy be unable to cast a shield charm in time, it would nick him around the bicep before falling flat and rolling back to her. ________________________________________________ | |

| Jake watched the progress of the students with a smile playing on his lips. They had embraced the lesson as well as possible, and Jake was very happy with how everything was working out.
The groups all worked through the task at their own pace to go through the task, with varying degrees of success. There was still work to do for many of the students, but he never, ever, expected his students to grasp the subject within one lesson. That would be much too high an expectation to hold upon his students, and Jake would never do such a thing.
As the kids finished up their work, and the bell sounded, Jake smiled to himself. "Well done everyone. Homework is to practice today's spells to ensure that you have grasped the basics. Try to work in pairs where possible so that you can ensure that you improve upon the progress you've made today.
"If there are no questions, you may leave." Jake told them, waving them all out of the class.
Class now closed. House Points Mercy Williams = 10 points for attendance Sophie Heart = 10 points for attendance Chauncey Rosseau = 10 points for attendance Gaspard Kylar = 10 points for attendance + 5 points for answer + 5 points for participation = 20 points. Mimosa Harrington = 10 points for attendance + 5 points for question + 5 points for participation = 20 points.
