| Lesson Plans - Winter Term Witches and Gentlewizards, welcome to your second semester of 2027 at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In accordance with the new lesson structures, you will find listed below all subjects on offer for the winter term, along with who will be teaching them, what the lessons entail, how the professor in charge should act/behave and other details to enrich your RP experience. Information provided below is only a guideline for you to flesh out later as you RP. Keep in mind, our strict professors will be shadow reading all your class threads to ensure realism and proper characterisation. Subject: | Ancient Runes | Professor: | Andrei Kessler (NPC) | Topic: | Revision | Lesson Plan: | A quiet lesson, students are only required to complete a reading and take a quiz on basic magical symbology. This lesson is suited to all years as a revision in basic runes is helpful at all levels of study. | Mood: | Having just been released from hospital yet again, the Headmaster looks rather peaky and has an air of exhaustion about him. As such, anyone who makes too much noise or disturbs the peace will be fined ten house points. |
Subject: | Astronomy | Professor: | Eros Vitali (NPC) | Topic: | Orion the Hunter | Lesson Plan: | As always, the class convenes on a Wednesday night at midnight for their weekly astronomy lesson. This week, the topic of interest is the constellation of Orion the Hunter. The students will be asked to observe the constellation, sketch what they can see, and try to label the constellation from memory where possible. | Mood: | The usual upbeat mannerisms of Eros', the professor will move around each of the students giving tips where needed. |
Subject: | Care of Magical Creatures | Professor: | Odysseas Venizelos (NPC) | Topic: | Mermen & Mermaids | Lesson Plan: | The class will take place underwater for this class. Each student will be provided with a warmed diving suit to keep the cold at bay. Submerging as a class, the group will go down to the depths of the lake to meet with the Mermen and Mermaids who frequent the bottom of the lake. The warning to all before the dive will be to stick close. | Mood: | Odysseas' mood is his normal no nonsense kind of mood. His instructions will be sharp, clear and concise, and all in the class will do well to heed his advice of staying close. |
Subject: | Defence Against the Dark Arts | Professor: | Jake Newbury | Topic: | Patronus Charms | Lesson Plan: | With a relatively simple set up for today's class, the topic of Patronus Charms is welcome at this time of the year. Focusing on happy thoughts, memories, people you love, or just a place that makes you feel good is probably a good place to end the year. Not all students will be successful in the casting of a Patronus Charm, but if nothing else, the attempt should make the students feel much better about themselves. | Mood: | The mood of the professor has seemingly improved since the start of the term, relaxed in nature despite the turn down in the global environment, it might leave some room for speculation in the students. Jake, however, is tight lipped about what's caused his good mood, and perhaps even tighter lipped about what helps him produce his Patronus. |
Subject: | Muggle Studies | Professor: | Bo Miller (NPC) | Topic: | Muggle Farming | Lesson Plan: | Student will be taken to the grounds where a complete Kentucky style Muggle farm has been enacted for the day complete with horses, cows and sheep. Students will learn plenty about Muggle agriculture, cattle wrangling and running an electrical farmhouse and stables. | Mood: | Quirky, country, firm if needed. |
So now that you know what's on offer, how do you participate in a class. Firstly, we highly encourage you to read the Student HandBook. Once you have done that, you will have a better idea of what is expected of you as a student. Next, you may either reach out to someone to RP with or decide to do a solo thread. Either way, you may create a topic with the class tag clearly written in the title (i.e. "CLASS: Charms: Mimosa, Mercy and Mariah") Post according to the rules set out for a three person thread and you're on your way! Finally, when the thread is complete, please submit the details of the lesson to this thread as a reply using the form below. - Code:

Only complete lessons/threads will be awarded points. Incomplete lessons may be submitted for review by the admin team but there is no guarantee they will be counted. Extenuating circumstances may apply however. So go out there and have fun learning! Let the race for the House Cup, begin! | |
