Jake's lightness did, somewhat, continue in to the afternoon. He thought it would, anyway. After all, thinking of happy memories could only be a good experience for the older students, right? That was what Jake was working towards, anyway.

With the classroom set up in the usual manner of having no desks and chairs, Jake flicked his wand towards the board where the words Patronus Charm formed in his usual scruffy handwriting. Checking the room once more, Jake took a seat on top of his desk, waiting for the students to come in to the room.

There was still time before the class started, so he simply flicked his wand towards the door to open it for everyone to come in and then sat patiently waiting, running through the instructions in hi head and making sure every step was covered by either a demonstration or an explanation.

Hopefully, the students were going to enjoy this as much as he planned.

Defence Against the Dark Arts was, ironically, not Victoria's strong point. Well, in fairness, the defensive side she could do all day long, but the more offensive spells made it very, very difficult for Victoria to manage. Therefore, DADA was difficult to Victoria, but she was not going to give it up for N.E.W.T.S. Oh no, she was going to exceed no matter what.

So on the Monday afternoon, Victoria hurried along to the classroom, as she usually did, and slipped in to the classroom. Noting her brother sat on his desk, Victoria smiled. "Good afternoon, Jake." She acknowledged him, moving towards the front and putting her bag down at the side of the room.

She knew the usual set up wasn't likely to leave Jake in a rush, and looking to the board, she felt a little relieved at the subject they'd been given. It was defensive magic, so Victoria was a little more confident in herself.

Now it was just a case of waiting for her peers to turn up.

Ugh!

While not even a word in itself, the small sound was the only thing Amalia could fathom to think as she continued down the corridor. As always, she all but strutted her way between classes, hips swaying a little. The witch had her eyes trained on the corridor in front of her, and she realised a few years ago that walking with such an air made her look as though she were pretending to be on a catwalk, but she'd quickly gotten over the thought.

Or rather, come to the conclusion that she would love to be on a catwalk.

But the men, or boys, as it were, in the castle were just so immature. Laughably so. As she walked, they would snicker, waggle their eyebrows, some of them even dared to comment on her. None were worth her time, she knew that, and a solid glare of distaste usually threw them. But Jorkins, for heavens sake, the Slytherin boy she swore she'd never see the end of, really had some nerve.

Usually, he'd just walk at her side, and while it was an inconvenience she didn't mind too much. But today, he'd put an arm around her, refusing to get off until she elbowed him square in the left rib, and even then he came back at her by pinching her rear. It was disgusting, the way some of the people in this place tried to show attraction. Amalia had muttered some Norwegian swears in his ear, tugging sharply on the lobe and making sure to dig her nails in for good measure.

Jorkins wasn't in her Defence class, though. Thank heavens. She forced herself to smile as she entered, nodding politely at her professor. The witch placed her bag on the floor and moved to join the Hufflepuff, their newly appointed Head Girl. Victoria, her name was, but Amalia didn't care much for knowing other people's names.

Gabriel slid to the left of a corner and down the hall "Make way!" He shouted a group of first years that were blocking the hall. They group quickly jumped out of his way, not too far behind him was a group of Slytherin's chased after him wanting his blood. It was a really small group of three but they suffered at the end of his Pranks, their leader sporting flaming pink hair that would get brighter the more you'd try to remove it, the other two were covered in sticking charmed feathers. That's what they get for picking on a Halfblood!

"Try to keep up!" He shouted over his shoulder, ducking left and then right again running from the fifth floor down some of the steps and sliding down the banisters on others. He must of lost them on one of the moving stair cases that didn't stop him from sliding into the Defense classroom and shutting the door behind him "Am I late? No I'm early...bollocks!" He said glancing at his watch, the up to the room mainly Mr. Newbury "Oh, Professor's in here. Er, I meant Goldilocks?"

Gabriel walked over to the small group of Slytherin and Hufflepuff "Hey all we're missing is a Claw and our Quad is complete!" He joked.

Defence Against the Dark Arts was possibly one of Josh's favourite subjects because it was a lot more practical than others. That being said, offensive magic was much more Josh's style, but knowing how to overcome the defences was a very good manner in which to succeed in duelling.

Which was basically how Josh worked, only going to lessons to watch others, find weaknesses, know how to make his own mind better. The last six at Hogwarts might have not filled him with much more theoretical knowledge than his home library offered him, but it helped him to learn people. You could not be a Murray without knowing how to manipulate people, and to know people, you had to be around them.

Which was the only reason he was here and not being home tutored.

Moving in to the room, there were three others, and of course, the Gryffindor seemed to a mockery of a human being. Josh made no comment, moving to the Slytherin witch's side and waiting for the class to begin without a word to anyone.

Lessons. It was something she either hated or was up for it, depending on her mood.
Today, thank God, she was cheerful, meaning that lessons did not bother her much... yet.
Of course, she knew that by the end of the day she would probably beg for them to end so that she can go do something more fun. See her sister for example, read a book, take a walk. So many things she could do if she had the chance. Or better, if she didn't have a day full of lessons.

Making her way down the corridor, she arrived at the DADA Classroom, knowing that she was not late. She wasn't the person that would be exactly on time. No. She couldn't be. Just the stress of knowing that she had to be there at a specific moment made her so nervous that she was more late than usual.

Pushing the door softly she made her way in, long blonde hair tied tightly in a ponytail. In such a lesson, she didn't want her hair to fly all over the place and provide a barrier for her sight.
She had to be ready.

Noticing there were already a few people in the class, she smiled and let her eyes drift between the faces, trying to find a familiar one. Her eyes landed first on Victoria, and she thanked Merlin silently. Victoria was one of the few friends she actually had and loved. But then her eyes landed on none other than Joshua Murray. She inhaled sharply and looked away, as if pretending he was not there, and silently made her way past him and closer to Victoria.

Gabriel frowned at the Slytherin Prefect, crossing his arms "Great just what we needed." He said dully "How was the summer Murray? Steal any candy this year yet?" What could he say, one Joshua was a Pureblood in Slytherin, two they played Quidditch against the other and he was fairly sure that Murray had broken his forearm last year with a Bludger.

He looked at the door again as it opened, showing another Hufflepuff so far destroying his hopes for the House Quad but he looked her over anyway "I didn't know Veela went here, you know that?" He asked looking at the other Hufflepuff girl, Victoria right? The Head-Girl "Either way it's cool, Fire is always welcome! Have we met I'm Gabriel MacKay." He said in a calm voice with a smirk plastered along his features.

Though he kept glaring at the older Slytherin.

Strolling through the Halls the Mexican Witch smiled to herself. Her summer had been absolutely great, par that freaky friday moment with Marilyn Caldwell, who despite being intensly intimidating, was extremely cool in Allegra's mind. And she seemed to really care about Jake, which was also awesome, from what she'd seen. And her Mama had managed to take a few days off to hang out with her and those moments weren't very common outside of Saturdays, since Alma worked very hard at her job in the Hotel and had to be there a lot.

Rapha had never been able to learn a job since he hadn't been able to finish school, but he was good at herbology. Though a late starter, since he was a squib and hadn't been allowed to officially attend wizarding school. But he'd been taking classes the past six years and would finish when Allegra finished so he could officially work as a herbologist.

The whole memory filled Allegra with an insane amount of pride and joy so she was beaming when she entered class, though still not overly fond of DADA, so she still went straight to Victoria, holding her hand and not even registering the others at first.

DADA. Well, it is not that bad after all, right?
For Alexander, Defence Against the Dark Arts was a far better subject than Herbology. Plus, this time he had actually eaten before, so no grumpy Alex or a growling stomach.
He had also slept well, meaning that for once he was actually on time.

Making his way to the class with a small smile, he waved at people he knew.
He even stopped for a minute and started discussing Quidditch with some of his mates, but sadly, he had to get to class, so he waved goodbye and continued making his way down the corridor and towards his class.
He was really interested for today's lesson. Surprisingly.

Once her arrived at the class, pushed the door opened and made his way in, nodding at the Professor with a small smirk.
There were quite a few people here already, something that made Alex eager to start with this lesson.
He was good with Charms, and after all, even though he didn't study as much as his mother would want, he was a Ravenclaw. And wit beyond measure, is a man's greatest treasure!

Oh! Bugger! Louise had seen the students moving towards defence against the dark arts and had completely forgotten it was on her timetable today so had to double back to fetch the correct books and made it back to the class, luckily it seemed only a few students were in the room already with room for more. She slid into the room, hoping no one noticed.

She spotted the name of the spell on the board and grinned, now this would be an exciting lesson. She'd loved the idea of patronus ever since coming across them in their text books. She wondered what hers would look like, hmm something small maybe but fast, or maybe it would be a complete surprise.

Louise almost giggled when a thought came to mind, how annoyed all the Slytherins would be if her patronus was a lion. Of course she doubted it'd be that grand, and certainly not on the first few tries. She then wondered how the professor was going to teach it to them, would he use a real dementor or would they just practice with partners?
