Gah (Humphrey)

When he asked if the boys were allowed on the girls side, she thought about it. She totally forgot about that small little fact. She picked up the rest of the bags and looked to Humphrey. "How about this, you come with me, drop the bags and hurry back down here and I'll meet you back down here when I put all the bags on my bed?" She didn't want him to get in trouble, but if he hurried back down here before anyone saw him he would be good. She didn't want him to feel like she was setting him up because she already thought of him as a friend and didn't want anything bad to happen to the young boy. He had a lot of learning left ahead of him.

Izzy completely understood where he was coming from, she knew what it was like to be a girl and it was difficult, but this Brooklyn girl was a different story. She was a little crazy when she wanted to be and Izzy just hoped that the girl wouldn't break the heart of Humphrey. "Don't worry, maybe she'll open up to you on why she is the way she is" Izzy didn't know the young girl on a personal level, but she did know girls in general and knew for a fact that the young girl will open up when she is ready. "Of course Humphrey, I'd feel offended if you didn't" she teased, but she was also totally serious. She would be his female guide when it came to girls.

The prospect of going to the girl quarters was still pretty daunting, but he eventually gave her a nod. "Okay, but I am staring at the floor so warn me if I'm about to bump into somebody, please." he requested. Walking forward with her, he kept his eyes firmly planted on the ground as he let her lead him. Eventually they reached a door he assumed to be Izzy's and, without a moment's hesitation, he gently dropped the bags before scurrying back to the common room quick as he could. It was helping a friend so Humphrey had been happy to do it, but it was still probably the scariest thing he'd done here at Hogwarts. If a girl had hexed him for being in the wrong area he would have had nobody to blame but himself.

When the girl told him Brooklyn might open up to him, Humphrey nearly burst out laughing. The chances of that happening were about as good as a bird making a nest in the whomping willow and surviving. "Oh, I already have a pretty good guess. Don't think she's the type to just start telling me things like that, though." he told her, with a bit of a frown. Although the tone was teasing, when he looked into the older girl's eyes he knew she was serious. Well, his sister would be proud of him for making a friend, at least. There was an awkward moment of silence before he stepped forward and crushed the older girl in a hug. "Thank you." he mumbled against her.

She could tell that Humphrey was afraid to get caught in the girl's head quarters. She understood that 100%, she'd be afraid to if that was her in that situation. "Don't worry, I will, you won't get into trouble" she nodded her head. When they walked up to where her room was, she watched as he dropped the bags and ran away. She smiled because she knew he was going to be a great kid when he grew older and she hoped she was around to see that happen. She placed all her bags on her bed when she was sure that none of them would fall, she walked out of her room closing the door behind her. she didn't run away because this was her quarters and she had every reason to be there. When she went back down the stairs she saw Humphrey there still. Which was good because he was good company.

She nodded at him, she knew how this Brooklyn girl was and deep down she knew that there was something going on in that girl's life that she refused to tell anyone. "Don't worry Humphrey, I know girls and that girl in particular needs someone who she can trust and have faith in. Be that guy. Show her that you're there for her and she'll open up eventually" Izzy advised her new found friend. She hugged Humphrey back. "You're welcome and I am rooting for you and Brooklyn in the end" she replied with a smile of her own.
