| Late for Care of Magical Creatures! Max had woken up late, and was adamant he was going to be late - which must have been why Primrose had left without him. He'd barely managed to pull his clothes on (of which he'd not noticed his jumper was on back to front and inside out) before he'd hurried out of the Common Room, and down in to the grounds to find the class.
He'd ran all the way down to the clearing where they always met, only to be met with fire.
Salamanders.
Max's eyes went wide as he moved to stand beside his (now) girlfriend. The Gryffindor's eyes were on the flames, though, or more specifically, the animals within the flames. He'd never seen a Salamander in real life, and they were just as amazing as he thought they would be in real life as the book said. |

| Care of Magical Creatures wasn't really Alexander's favourite classes but it was one of the easiest ones for him. So it was why he did walk towards where the lesson for CoMC was held. He had no idea what they will do in today's lesson or about what creature they will learn about but too be honest he didn't care even that much.
He reached soon her destination and just stood there away from everyone. He just needed some classes to pass his year in this school. So it was really other reason why he was here. He hoped they will start soon and the class will be over soon too. So he can go back to do something more fun than the listening professor and his fellow students there.
Oh Alexander didn't even bother to say hello there. No point really for him. It was good that he even was here.
He really wasn't someone who takes his studies very seriously right now. Even if he actually should.
He noticed there was some creatures but his mind wasn't even sure what was name of them. Too be honest he didn't care that much about it. |

| Carlotta made her way to Care of Magical Creatures, excited to be there. She loved the outdoors, and found classes that were more interactive to be far more interesting than those that were simply theory. Though she supposed, it depended on what theory exactly. But overall, practical trumped theory.
She reached the class, noticing first and foremost the fire, and the lizard-like creatures that were crawling around in it. Salamanders instantly popped into her mind
"Hi professor," she greeted "Hope that you're well," she smiled, before looking around and noticing Arthur standing off to the side. Naturally she walked over to greet him.
"Arthur, how're you going?" she grinned, clearly happy to see him "Exciting isn't it? Salamanders," she said, glancing back to the fire "Isn't it odd how something usually so destructive, fire, can actually still host life?" she mused a little. |

| Josh's attendance record was flaky at best. During his years at Hogwarts, the boy had made an effort to attend only the bare minimum of classes needed for him to move on to the next year of his studies. He was sure that most of his teachers probably thought he was a new student because he was never around often enough to be a constant face.
He wanted to think that none of this mattered, though. That his performance in school would not affect the outcome of his life. But he knew better than to rely on good thoughts and high hopes. It was probably time to start caring about what came after Hogwarts, because there had to be an after Hogwarts. Right?
Joshua walked into the meeting area of the Care of Magical Creatures class, hoping that today's lesson would be something simple that he could just nod and act like any of this mattered. The area felt warm due to the fire burning to keep today's subject alive.
"Salamanders," Joshua mumbled under his breath. At least the lession was about a creature he could relate to. |

| Lucy had never really been a fan of animals. She only really took the class because Corbin seemed interested. Regardless, deciding it might be a good idea to expand her knowledge, to get out of her comfort zone a bit, she made her way to where Care of Magical Creatures were being held, surprised to see the fire, and the little lizard-like things within it. Lizards, Lucy shuddered at the thought.
"Professor," she nodded before making her way over to where she saw Corbin was.
"I've no clue what they are," she murmured, by way of greeting him "But they remind me of that Charmander thing from Pokemon... Let's hope we don't have to touch them," she added, dropping her bag to the floor. They didn't seem to leave the fire at all, perhaps they wouldn't have to handle them, but just observe. Observing, Lucy was fine with. |

| "Morning Sophie," Daniel replied to the young Gryffindor witch with a warm smile. As she moved towards the fire to see the Salamanders - and said that they were just that, Daniel smiled. "We will be, yes." Daniel replied to the question, looking up to see the next arrival. "Morning Prim." Daniel responded to her greeting.
Daniel continued to greet each student in turn as they arrived to the lesson, taking care to not draw too much attention to those who didn't wish to speak, out of politeness. Until, of course, he was approached with a question from Nora. Smiling at her eager questions, Daniel just about managed to hold back a small laugh at her words. "We'll be doing the ones that have been around a little while, so they're quite big." Daniel told the witch with a smile, hoping this would satiate her interest, if only for a while before they started the lesson.
Again, Daniel went back to greeting each student as they arrived - adding that he was well to Carlotta - until it was finally time to begin the lesson. Clapping his hands together to get everyone's attention, because a number of conversations had been struck up whilst people waited, Daniel allowed a few moments for the noise to die down.
"Right, good morning everyone!" Daniel greeted them all with a smile. "As many of you have already worked out, we will today be looking at the Salamander. Now, for those of you who hadn't seen, look at the fire a little closer, and you should see little lizard like animals within the flames. Who here knows anything about these creatures that they'd like to share with the class?" Daniel asked, signing the words to Elleon and Amber so that they could keep up. After all, he could hardly ask his staff to accommodate the two if he didn't do so as well.
Looking around for the answer, Daniel was ready to sign it for Amber and Elleon as the person spoke, making sure they did not get left behind in this lesson. |

| James was running late- something not unusual for the boy. He'd got caught up chatting with his mates, and fortunately for him, didn't particularly care if he was punctual or not. Although, that sort of mind set often lead to numerous arguments, particularly with Florrie and his mother, as he often made the family late for functions and social gatherings that were supposedly important.
Luckily for him (he always seemed to have quite a lot of luck), the professor had only started explaining the lesson as he'd reached the group. He'd caught 'Salamander', and the question posed. An interesting fact about Salamanders... He thought, dropping his bag by his feet when he was close enough.
"Aren't they only able to leave their fire for short amounts of time?" he asked the professor, remembering skimming over the reading for the subject and noting that down. The only qualm was that he had done just that, skimmed. Nothing more. So bits and pieces tended to not be absorbed. |

| Today was a bad day, he was even running later than his brother, he realised as he saw James walking in front of him to class. James being, well, James, didn't seem to care about punctuality, which lead to quite a lot of frustration at home for when the family had to be somewhere. James also had no qualms in drawing attention to himself, despite being late. Something that Anthony really didn't enjoy doing.
He joined the rest of the class, remaining towards the back, while James spouted something vague about the subject they'd be learning about that day. He'd missed the professor's explanation, but he was certain he'd pick up on whatever it was. Already, from the fire, he'd gathered that it would have to be a species that lives or thrives in fire- a peculiar creature. He thought he saw some things crawling around the fire, but he wasn't too sure, being stuck behind all the others. |

| The tap on her shoulder signaled the arrival of Elleon, and she turned with a smile to give him a salute. "No idea," she told him, shrugging for effect. "I think there's a creature in the fire; people seem to be looking for it. I tried to read their lips but it looks like 'G-A-D' something, and it doesn't make sense." Pausing, she looked back at the flames with a frown, then back at Elleon. "What animals live in fire?
Before long, class started and she turned her attention to the front. The good thing about being Deaf was that, no matter how noisy it was, she could always 'hear' the person speaking to her. In this case, their Professor knew sign, and it was easier for her to follow class, not having to rely on Elleon. He still scared her, but she was thankful for him knowing it.
"Duh, salamanders!" she signed, mostly to herself, in small, barely recognisable gestures. How had she not realised before? Racking her brain for any information, she hesitated to answer at first, wanting to be sure she hadn't mixed up any creatures.
Someone else beat her to answering, and as the Professor interpreted the answer, she nodded to herself before raising her hand high. After she'd been called upon, she signed, "Up to six hours, I think, if fed... Something. Chili? I forget. They are used in the ruin alphabet, too, as the number six, because of this." |

| Daniel had given a small, grimace of a smile as the two Byrne boys arrived late to his lesson - neither one offering an apology for their lateness which more than irked the man. Deciding not to be a grinch in the last lesson of the year, though, Daniel simply allowed the moment to pass by without reprimand. Another time, they might not be as lucky, though.
Signing the answer the Gryffindor had given for Amber and Elleon, Daniel nodded in response - signing his response too. "Well done, James - you're quite correct there. Five points for Gryffindor!" Daniel told them, before turning his attention to Amber.
"Amber has just correctly added that Salamanders can live outside of the fire for up to six hours, if fed chili. And that they are used in the ruin alphabet, too, as the number six." Daniel explained to the rest of the class, because he doubted anyone could understand sign language.
"What I would like for you to do today," Daniel explained, his hands still moving in to the different signs with mild confidence. "Is to feed the Salamanders." Daniel explained, motioning to the tray of chilies he had with him. "I will take down the barrier, which will mean the Salamanders will be free to roam. Please take care with them, they are prone to trying to run away, which, obviously, we need to try not to let happen."
With that, Daniel motioned them off to try, taking down the guards he'd put up originally so that the children could take a closer look. |
