"You're serious?"

"Deadly."

"But you've had your own place before."

"And staff following me the whole time."

"Okay, fine, this goes in the trolley." Azalea explained, passing him a pound coin. "And we put all the shipping inside."

"You know you can hire people to do this."

"Yes, but I like to pick out what I'm feeding Jake and the kids myself."

"You really are adorable, Azalea, you know that? Headmistress and still doing the normal stuff!"

"Tried? Just "tried". This cannot happen!"

"Of course not. It would be unfair. You know she isn't the one I see my future with."

Azalea glared, daring him to continue that line of thought.

Staying the night with her had been nothing short of confusing for him. The natural manner in which he'd woken up had clearly not gone unnoticed from the all too precise way in which he was tucked in.

The soft smell of Azalea's perfume wafted around the room as he woke, and Jacques had roused all too eager that morning.

The cold shower had done little to tame it either.

The smell of the witch still lingered upon his skin hours later, begging him to give in to a temptation that shouldn't have existed between the two of them...

The American team were nearing them now. There were fewer options now than there had been even an hour ago. Jake glanced down at the picture in his hand. As old as it was, it was the only photo he had of his whole family.

The family that needed him to get back.

It went against everything they'd been taught until now.

Leaning his head back against the cold stone wall, Jake closed his eyes from the world. "We have to fall back. Now." Jake told his unit as he opened his eyes again.

"We'll fight these bastards another day."

Alys's blue eyes trained on his, the ghost of a smile on her lips. Slowly, she moved closer to the Austrian man. So close, their lips were inches apart.

"Not a chance," she whispered smoothly before moving away.

"M'Lord, your bleeding quite heavily."

"Am I still atop my horse?" Thomas replied, doing his best to snatch the fresh lance from his squire as he grimaced. The last lance had hit him hard in the right shoulder that supported the weight of his shield. A shield that lay somewhere done the line.

Spurring the horse hard with his heels the Clement heir went thundering back towards his opponent from the Noir family. Intent on not losing the tourney that celebrated the marriage to his wife.

He'd win this thing or die trying for Lisette, that much he was sure.

Nothing.

"What happened?"

Nothing.

"Did Si do something?"

"You're going purple... That's not your colour, Alex."

"Did Si do this?"

Nothing.

"I'm going to kill him." Alex decided, grabbing his wand from the side as he got to his feet. Anger bubbled inside the blonde as he went to move towards the door, the purple mark upon Annagramma's cheek was quite clear and Alex was not going to let him get away with it.

"It's done now." Anna said softly as her hand caught his wrist. "Stay here with me?"

As if he could deny her anything...
