"Me?" Ivan replied, confusion touching his features at the question.

"Well, you're insisting that this marriage would be good for the family. You're not married." Aurore pointed out, not unkindly, but in her usually quick witted manner. Ivan paused, considering the question the child has asked.

"Well, it would be inappropriate in my position to marry. The love of my life is my work." Ivan replied.

The fact that the Clement tutor was telling a complete lie was besides the point.

He'd been in love for a number of years, but there was nothing he could do.

The Frenchman walked quietly beside Azalea in to the Newbury's gardens.

He hadn't meant to call by unannounced like he had, but he'd needed to talk to someone.

Azalea had been his first choice, his only choice.

Which is why they had made it around to the swimming pool.

"I knew it wasn't going to last... but I really didn't know it was going to hurt... like this." Jacques managed softly as they came to the seats by the pool.

Azalea's hand moved to his, and then drew him in to her embrace.

"I'm here for you."

"Thanks," he whispered.

"You put Arjun's head down the toilet, and asked him how he liked it."

"Well, it's not my fault boys have become whiny little bitches."

"Andrew!"

"What?"

Jake sighed gently at his son, trying his absolute best to not look at all proud.

"You can't beat people up like this, you will get yourself expelled."

"They've been doing the same thing to Ivan for years, it's not my fault I have balls bigger than theirs. Metaphorically, anyway."

Jake couldn't help but crack a small smile, quickly hiding it because he couldn't show favouritism.

The first day of her new career had come around much quicker than she'd expected. Victoria hadn't felt nervous going to work for a very long time. The idea of going to a work place without Jackson by her side was one she hadn't had to contemplate for a long time.

It had been with shaky legs that Victoria had walked in to the court room that morning, the court had been asked to stand for her and the sight was one that would take some getting used to.

Much too used to supporting Jackson.

Judge Blake took her seat.

Jake pulled out his wand, summoning the sharp knife away from his daughter. How she had gotten hold of it, he'd never know, but he did know he couldn't chase her around the house trying to get it back.

"You're no fun!" Adrienne exclaimed, a pout on her lips. "I wanted a sword fight!"

"To your room. Now." Jake replied shortly, his voice wavering as Adrienne trotted off to her room. Leaning on the kitchen counter, Jake rested his head upon the surface. He didn't know how much more he could take.
