She wanted to be asleep by the time he took her to wherever they were going.

She wanted to be far far away.

Where only dreams of her Jacques could reach her.

Ivan looked on to the potion that had just blown up over his station, tears running down his cheek. The boys behind him laughed without a care as they turned back to their own concoctions.

"Is everything alright?"

Ivan wouldn't reply to his mom, instead pulling out his wand and clearing away the mess someone else had made. He'd only looked away for a second...

No potion would be submitted by the boy that lessen, earning him a failed score in a subject he usually did quite well in.

"Newbury had an accident, that's all!"

"Anything. Something."

Elenore looked back at her brother blankly in that moment. What was it that he wanted her to say in that moment? Words were not going to do anything to help the situation they currently found themselves in...

"How long until the surgeons will be done?"

The Clement heir looked back at her with utmost confusion and something else the witch did not recognise.

"Four years, and you still can't see what you've done." He scalded, hurt.

"I've done nothing that I regret." Elenore replied evenly.

The teen held the witch close, his head resting against hers. Both their breathing was heavier than it had any right to be after such a short kiss, and yet, here they were.

With all too much exposed to one another.

Alex drew back slowly, his hold upon the witch not relenting even as he did so.

"I'll... I'll get you somewhere safe, Anna." He promised, trying to sound firm and yet not managing to do so as he looked in to her eyes. As if trying to remember all of this moment.

Because he knew it wouldn't happen again.

Victoria stilled as she looked in to her daughter's eyes, pushing a smile she didn't feel on to her lips. "My beautiful Tessa, you're my little wanderer. You can go as far from home as you can possibly go, but you'll always come home to me."

"Will you be sad?"

"I never need to be sad, you're my little star, and I'll find you no matter where you might be."

The young witch looked at her uncertainly.

"And I won't let anyone hurt you, ever."

Tessa smiled, somewhat reassured.

"Reports tell us that the shooter was a loner, bullied at the school."

"Why does that matter?" Victoria spat at the TV.

"They left a note to explain that they were taking revenge upon those who tormented them at the school."

"Not my baby!"

"Nobody could have stopped them, once they'd made the decision to do this."

Victoria broke down in to sobs, pressing the off switch to the television as she curled in to the sofa anew.

All of the TV shows said the same thing every day since the shooting.

It was everyone else's fault.

Except the gun's.
