"None sir, tell my wife and son I love them please."

"Teeeeeeessssssss!"

Scott watched, no movement coming from his dance partner. No sound. Her eyes blank. The American boy moved without a word, drawing Tessa in to his lap without another word. He'd come to recognise the retreating look in Tessa Blake's eyes when she slipped in to the past. The panic that she would try so hard to internalise when a noise much too loud shook her core.

"It's alright, I'm here for you, you're safe." The Harrington boy murmured in to her hair, doing the only thing he knew would work.

Wait for her to come back.

But the palace also had it's traditions, and one of them was the Christmas Ball. This year, Alex and Anna were invited and so, they'd gone shopping. Anna wanted to look good so Alex could be proud of her!

Stepping out of the changing room, she struck a pose. "Isn't it prefect?"

Alex simply stared.

"I'm hungry!"

Jake sighed heavily, putting the bowl of potato chips back down. "No one is going to notice a handful of chips missing!"

"I will."

Jake couldn't argue with that, instead moving back towards the kitchen to see if there was something else he could consume without Azalea noticing that he'd taken it.

He'd just rounded on the prepacked cakes when Leafy shot out of no where, taking hold of his wrist and pushing it up behind his back.

"I have eyes everywhere!"

Jake laughed softly, conceding defeat this time.

"What, it's what all the girls like in your class..." Jake tried, getting a glare from Adrienne. The young witch moved along the aisle a little further, before picking up a NERF gun. Jake raised an eyebrow at his daughter.

"Can I have this, daddy? Rather than the pony? Please?"

Jake let out a soft chuckle, moving to the witch's side and picking up a smaller gun.

"Only if I can get this one?" He said conspiratorially, earning a giggle from the small witch. "We can get mommy when we get home, what d'you think?"

With a smile, he took off his coat, placing it around her shoulders.

The fifteen year old glowered at his mother. The Trump family glared at her in turn, the apology dying on her lips because even she had limits.

Victoria was cut off as she entered the room of the hotel they were visiting for a conference that weekend.

"And how many times do I have to tell you I'm not going to be walked over?!"

"Your father-"

"Will be too busy to give a shit about this."

The witch's eyes, frightened, met his and Scott gave her a small, reassuring smile.

"It's just you, me and the rink."

"And thousands of people watching."

"You, me and the rink." Scott told her firmly, wrapping his arms around her as he always did in these moments.

"What if I-"

"You won't."

"But-"

"You're with me, we're going to skate like we always do." Scott reassured the witch, his usual confidence exuding and filling the witch with the same hope that he always passed down to her.
