"But do you think it's true?"

"I would never harbour the notion that my opinion matters," the tutor replied silently, confusing her further.

"Well, I thought having twins was going to be difficult with already having two, but quite honestly... it's not as difficult as everyone said it would be. Babies are... like second nature, I guess now." Victoria explained to her best friend. "Though, bless Jackson, you should see him trying to look after all of them at once. The phrase a fish out of water..."

The amusement was clear in Victoria's features, though it was fond.

"Merlin knows what the house will look like by the time we get home. Though, hopefully Jake will have helped!"

"It's the Clement seat, yes."

"So, you're from one of the most historical families of Europe."

Elenore nodded curtly at that much.

"That's so cool! I thought Scott was joking when he said he was from one of the biggest families in the world. You guys just don't seem very... Clement-y."

Elenore's lips pursed at that much, she swallowed gently.

"There's no such thing as being too, or not enough of a Clement. The family is a legacy, and those from the family should never be questioned." Elenore told her son's friend, a dislike forming already.

"Isn't that the president?"

Jake looked across at Jackson with an unamused look on his features.

"Can't take you anywhere, can I?"

"That's the joy of having been the president." Jackson replied, much too smugly as he turned towards the group of middle aged women looking for his attention. Once upon a time it had been Jake as the centre of attention when out in public, but that was almost thirty years ago now, and whilst he didn't miss it, it was times like this that he wished he still had the attention.

And not Jackson Smug Face Blake.

"Of course they're only going to pick the best. This is for a spot on the national team." Scott replied not understanding the question from his partner at all.

"What if we don't make it?"

"We will."

"How can you be so sure?"

Scott stopped, turning back to Tessa with the usual calm smile he had for her.

"Because I know that you're not going to give up with a good fight, and that tenacity is going to see us through." Scott explained, drawing Tessa close to him. "Now, deep breath in.... And out. We've got this Tess, believe me!"

The shock that had transpired behind Lady Aurore Vanessa Clement's eyes was brief, but it lasted long enough to be visible to those who knew her well. "Who is the lucky man?"

"Does it matter?" Alicient replied quietly. "Papa thinks it is the best match I will get, he didn't ponder for a moment."

Aurore nodded. They both knew this day would come.

If not for Alicient, then for the heiress. One day they would have to give up their girlhood dreams and go their separate ways.

It still hurt though.

Andrew had frog-marched his brother across the hall to Mariel without a second thought. Annoyed to high heaven that the nerd was going to let the girl he liked graduate without something being said.

"Mariel, Ivan wanted to talk to you."

Ivan said nothing.

Sighing, Andrew looked to Mariel. "Ivan is hella in to you. He's just too stupid to tell you that, ironically. So, to help him out..." Andrew took his brother's hand and Mariel's and brought them together.

"Can you please be his girlfriend and do all the kissy face, and take his virginity before he dies?"

Next step: In the club, music loud and the atmosphere pumping.
