The man turned to his companion with the patience that he'd built over the vast number of years of knowing Annagramma and her worries.

"We've come this far, there's nothing to go back for now, Anna." He reminded her gently as she dabbled at the gate of the Palace. "This time... We're safe, I promise. Simon can't get us, the men who turned our life upside down won't know where we are. We're safe."

Her fingers found the split in his lip, and slowly Annagramma nodded her agreement to following him.

"Let's find your studio."

"Hold on tight, Adrienne!"

"Faster!" The child squealed happily.

"Daaaa-"

The complaint was cut off as vomit flew from the roundabout. Jake grabbed hold of the playground toy, bringing it to a stop.

"Are you alright, Ive?"

"Ivan threw up!" Adrienne giggled, turning to her brother who looked very green. "You're a big baby!" She grilled him.

"Now, now, Adrienne, not everyone is a daredevil like you!" Jake admonished, helping his son from the roundabout. "You alright, Ive?"

"I wanna go home."

Jake smiled carefully, taking out his wand and tidying his son up.

"How about ice cream?"

"How did he know that's what you wanted for valentine's day?"

"Jackson?" Victoria asked with a laugh. "He didn't. I just left lots of unsubtle hints."

"Well it worked!"

"Of course it did, that's why we work so well together." Victoria laughed, checking the necklace sat right in the mirror.

"Sometimes you just have to prod him in the right direction, but I wouldn't have him any other way!"

Mac laughed as she headed for the door.

"Well, I sure hope he's worth all of what's to come, First Lady Blake."

"He's worth it all..." Victoria whispered.

"Thomas," Jacques' voice was firm even though his fingers were pinching the bridge of his nose and not looking at his son. "It's come to my attention that you've been... Spending far too much time in your sister's room."

Silence.

"I don't wish to put limitations upon my children, but this... This behaviour must stop." Jacques explained, his tone showing there was no room to move.

"And if I don't, are you tell me there are things we cannot have, as Clements?"

His mother had told him the same...

"If you can't stay away... At least don't make it obvious."

"I don't understand why I have to be naked, under the full moon, Anna!"

"Because it gives off the perfect light!" Annagramma replied simply as she frowned at her canvas.

"Yes, but it's January, it's freezing out here!"

"Well, if you hold still, it won't take long!" Annagramma replied, her finger running over his chest with an orange hue Alex most definitely didn't understand.

All he knew was that the way her finger ran across the muscle of his chest was leaving small sparks of heat that he begged to feel again if they kept the cold at bay.
