"What worries you, My Lady?" He was always so quiet, she never heard him coming. Mimosa looked the young man over, his new honours glittering on his simple Maester's garb. It wasn't a requirement but Ivan Newbury was nothing If not traditional.

"Oh, just the nuptials, there is still so much to do." It didn't occur to Mimosa to lie, Maesters served the house in all capacities.

"The Lady Clement isn't worried. I would interpret that as a good sign."

"I know but... My Jacques doesn't seem to... Actually, never mind."

"Very good, My Lady."

Next prompt: The awakening

Elenore's eyes took in the whole of their new estate with uncertainty, Kit's arms were wrapped firmly around her waist, his lips somewhere within her hair.

She'd never had anything that was what Kit had just said.

Hers.

How could this be hers? Everything had always belonged to someone -- either before her, or would be after her.

"All... of it?"

"All of it." Kit replied, just as softly as he'd told her that all of this was hers.

He wouldn't see the tears in the witch's eyes as that sunk in, but that didn't matter.

Only this moment did.

"Jackson, did you start the washing?" The senator looked up from the TV, loath as he was to miss the game. Beside him, Holden grunted, making his slight displeasure at being interrupted known.

"Was I supposed to do that?"

"Jackson!" Hia wife intoned exasperatedly as she carried a stack of boxes taller than her towards the stairs. "I reminded you yesterday, and this morning."

"But I did it last week."

"Jackson, we have five children!" Victoria sounded on the verge of panic.

"Fine, fine I'll do it after the game, promise."

His wife - justifiably so - didn't look convinced.

Next Prompt: Going to McDonalds!

"I really... can't."

"Tess. It's a cheeseburger. If you can't have a cheeseburger once in a blue moon, then what is your life?" Scott replied, turning the car in to the McDonald's parking lot.

"But our coach sa-"

"Fuck him. Today, I'm taking my girlfriend out to dinner."

"To McDonalds?"

"McDonalds is the staple of America. Ask your dad, he'd definitely agree with me."

"More likely he'd murder you for taking his daughter on a date without his permission."

"Not if the McDonald's heart attack gets me first!"

Tess laughed, and Scott felt better in this decision.

"Fair point."

"Mimosa we've been over this."

"No we haven't," the nineteen year old replied petulantly. "You're lying. I don't know why, but you are." Never had she imagined talking to her Jacques like this. But then again, she hadn't imagined a world in which he didn't love her either.

"Mon Chouchou, I-"

"You know, I don't think I like this world anymore," she cut across him, not realizing the implication of her own words. "If you don't love me, then I shouldn't be here."

She didn't notice him turn deathly pale

"You think she would grow out of it, I mean, really?"

Nikolai stayed quiet as Mimosa's dormmates spoke.

"She's seventeen, and still going around like a child with a creepy infatuation!"

"Yeah, but look at how much money and power he has, it's bound to make you feel special."

"Honestly, though, what would he see in her? She's so much younger than him, and he has far better options!"

The girls carried on their way, their next words unheard. For a second, he felt strangely protective of Mimosa, but he shrugged it off.

His ex was no longer his concern.

"Don't you dare!"

"Why not, you've not put a piece down in an hour!"

"Because I'm trying to work it out, Adrienne!"

"It's boring, come play in the poooooool!"

"Go away!"

"Daaaaaaad, Ivan's being boring again and won't play with me!" Adrienne whined, falling backwards in to the sofa with a fed up look.

"Leave your brother be, he's doing his puzzle!" Their father's reply came. "Come on, your mom and I will play with you!"

"But I wanted to dunk Ivan in the pool..."

"Adrienne, that's not nice."

"But it's fun, Dad!"

"That's why he doesn't want to play!"

She knows he likes it steaming.

He has never told her, but she wouldn't be this good if she needed to be told.

She adds only a little bath salt, no scents. Just a neutral if rough scrub. She knows why he comes here. While most men seek her out for pleasure, this one is the opposite.

He only wants pain, self loathing, a kind of wanton self expression he isn't allowed in his life.

And he pays well for it.

Though truth be told, Gabriella doesn't always want his money.

Sometimes... She only wants to help.

Next prompt: As far as the eye can see

"Aurelie, everything the light touches is ours!"

His brother girated in a disgusting manner that made Ivan's nose turn up in return.

"Oui, oui, oui!"

"Andrew, stop it. The family should not be spoken about in such a manner. Especially not here!"

"Non?"

"No."

"Voulez vous coucher avec moi?"

"You're disgusting."

"No more than the family rampant with incest you serve."

"Do not talk about them like that."

"Why not? They're nothing to do with us."

Ivan's lip pursed.

"If you're going to make fun of something, at least do your research and call Lady Aurore by her proper name."
