Background
Alexander was home tutored until the age of eleven by the various house staff at the manor. Being an only child he relied on the servants as a source of entertainment. His parents were always busy socially, and on the occasions they were around, it was usually when they were exhausted. Alexander learnt from an early age that he could get almost anything he wanted if he whined enough to his parents about the staff not giving him what he wanted - though he never realised how costing these complaints were to those people who were dismissed for defying the youngest Cavendish.
His cousins were his only friends, and that was always rather tentative due to the links to the British Monarchy and the fact too much rested on the silence of their world.

Family Background
The Cavendish family have reigned most of Devon for a number of years. They hold the titles from the Royal family for the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire for a number of years. They're known in Muggle Britain for the link to the Royal family, but they do not partake in much of the Royal traditions. His parents were in an arranged marriage before they started at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and started their family shortly after they left. Since Alexander was born, the duo have spent much of their time living in the social life of the Pureblood ways, barely remembering their sole heir unless the staff bring him to their attention.
